Wow! Nice techniques for airbrushing. I guess I'm gonna have to get me a few paint knives to use with my airbrush. I hope I can learn to airbrush like that. I have a cheap airbrush from Harbour Freight. I didn't like the trigger so I modified one for my Badger 155 Anthem airbrush, but took a little too much off the bottom. I've got to order another from Airbrush supply and modify the interior where the needle goes through the trigger. The first modification I took too much off the bottom of the trigger and I also used a Badger 155 Anthem back rocker as I broke the one on the HF airbrush. Since then I have gotten a Badger 155 Anthem airbrush and I love it. I use the HF one for lacquer based paints and the Badger for acrylics. I see that you even use some Windex in your painting. Never tried that but will in the near future.

Absolutely stunning work you do with an airbrush. I bought a airbrush 2 years ago. And I'm having the hardest time using it. I've just about given up on it. Maybe its the airbrush. Or maybe its me not knowing how to use it properly? But I don't want to give up on it. What I bought was an Iwata NEO gravity feed dual action airbrush. And an iwata neo air compressor. That has only 3 settings. It the airbrush always clogs up. And bubbles up inside the airbrush. Even though I've thinned it down. So what do you recommended on affordable airbrush and compressor? That won't give me problems.

Hi, I like to use a quick change airbrush for these techniques. It can shoot a lot of paint and change colors quickly. It's good to have other airbrushes on hand if you want to add different types of details..but that's the main one I use for spray paint art techniques with airbrush. Very simple ,very nice, & with some practise ,even I get the idea, I could do this !! I get it that the Reeves-Windsor-Rowney type acrylics would be best & be lasting.I have not as yet used Acrylics in airbrush(hence my visit to-day ) but any tps on getting consistency ?I did get some Airbrush acrylic medium but that seems thick. ps. I'm new at this.

Will craft acrylic paint in the bottles work as well? Not sure exactly what tubes of acrylic paint you're referring to, as most of the stuff I see is in small bottles.

+Fox thre3 custom models Craft acrylic paint will work, but not as well as artist quality paint. What happens is that when it dries it looks different or not as good as the artist quality paints. For example a galaxy may look awesome when wet , but with craft paints, it looks flat when dry and some colors disappear a bit. With artist quality paint you get...well, artist quality work!--Alisa

I learned a lot about airbrushing from your videos. I submitted one to a local art exhibit recently and it sold before the exhibit opened to the public. I did it with spray cans. Since then I've switched to the quick change sprayers like your using here. The problem I have is the small fine point nozzles clog very easily and quickly. Any tips on preventing this?

Hi, yes, definitely it's an issue. First of all the paint can cause clogging. If you use professional airbrush paints you'll notice less clogging. You can use other paints if you are careful to strain them through panty hose and not let the paint dry in the bottom of the bottle. Any paint glogs will cause the clogging. Other than that you can put a sewing pin inside both the nozzle and the air hole when the paint is not in use. You can also use the air from the brush to spray through the nozzle and un block it. hi, I didn't get their compressor but I'm sure it would be fine. My current favorites are the pancake compressors from Home Depot but if I wanted to get really fancy I might look for something quieter. It depends on how much noise you are willing to put up with. The bigger the tank the less frequently it makes noise.

+Bruuski Yes, windex replaces clear coat. Windex can be used with montana water based 300 spray paint for some cool effects, but not with solvent based spray.-Alisa
