How to Align Planer In Feed/Out Feed Tables

Here's my simple, easy planer in feed out feed table alignment technique using a planer sled and clamps to ensure the tables are perfectly aligned with no fuss. This is the fastest method I've ever seen with bullet proof results. I'm doing this on my DeWalt DW735, but the same method can be done on any planer.

The in feed and out feed tables are there to help reduce snipe by keeping the board flat as it enters the cutter head and exits the head when it's only supported by one roller. The tables extend the planer bed to provide support for the board so it does not tip up into the cutter, causing snipe. But those tables won't do anything unless they are perfectly in line with the bed of the planer.

I tried tool holder magnets from HF, but they are only around 18" and aren't long enough. This is a really simple fix that seems like it should have been obvious after watching it. Thank you and great video!

even better way i recent discovered is using 2 i beam levels with magnetic strips on bottom (i put one on each side about 2 inchs from edge ) the levels pull the tables up to the bed perfectly

What if my tables are even with the planer bed at the edges of the tables , but in the middle of the tables they sit a little bit lower than the bed ?

That means your tables are bent. You can put a straight edge across the table and check to see if the table is dipped in the middle to validate. If that's the case you can contact the manufacturer to see if they will send replacement tables.
