Thanks enjoyed watching it especially the wheel balancing part. I was super impressed on how easy you managed putting the rear wheel back in, I always struggle with the spacers falling out. Well done thanks.

Haha, nice one, maybe it's just beginner's luck ;). Or perhaps you spacers do not sit as tight when you put them onto the wheel.

Superb video. I’ve yet to add rim locks but now I know the holes already there I may as well. Never noticed the rubber bung! Great stuff.

Nice video. Unless you go over 40 mph you will not feel an imbalance in the wheels and if you do I doubt you will feel anything with the bobbies. I know I don't at 75 mph with my 250l. I would use balance beads in the tubes which will give a perfect balance for the entire life of the tube. Again, nice instructional video.
@Shem
@Shem 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I frequently go over 70mph to get to paces where I can actually ride offroad, so balanced wheels are important to me. I of course understand that if you use the bike only offroad, then there is little point in balancing. I've never heard of the balance beads - I'll have to research that option - thank you!

@@Shem There are many types of balance beads, I purchased these: www.modeltford.com/item/CA-6.aspx Here is a good video on them: m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/m6KVZ2Z3jsysj8k This is not exactly the same product but the same principle from centramatics: m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/mICUdZmHateCm7s Balance matters is another product achieving the same result only with mercury. Amazing principle. I have used air soft bb's in large tires on my truck and it does work.

Shem, thanks for making this great video! did you stick with the heavy duty tubes? could you tell the difference with the extra weight ? thinking about doing this but on the fence.
@Shem
@Shem 2 жыл бұрын
No worries. Yes, I could but not to the point that would put me off from using this setup. Speaking of weight, I have now switched to TUBliss system, but this was because I was curious, rather than me being unhappy with the HD inner tubes.

Thanks. Mix of various tool brands - it very much depends on what tool it is. Tools that I carry with me are mainly composed of 1/4" Wera Kraftform Zyklop Ratchet Set (05051045001), Motion Pro T6 Combo Lever Set 24mm & 12/13mm (08-0540), KNIPEX 125mm Mini Pliers (86 03 125), and a handful of dual-sided King Dick spanners.

I could not see link for vid showing how to insert HD tube valves, I had same problem. I did not fit rim locks because of additional weight, I have ridden approx 1000 miles since on and off road but I leave pressure at 18 p.s.I all the time
@Shem
@Shem 3 жыл бұрын
Hi George. The link is at the very bottom of the video description, here you go: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qGjQc5RtYpqCf8k. Yes, adding additional unspring weight is no ideal. TBH, I don't really lower the pressure enough to need a rim lock, but it is there in case of emergencies (i.e. if I had to ride with a flat tire, etc.).

For someone with so much detail in there videos, you didn’t bounce the front wheel before tightening pinch bolts to align the folks.
@Shem
@Shem 3 жыл бұрын
Good point Wayne - I missed that. After torqueing the front axle I should have pumped the fork several times to align it, before torqueing the pinch bolts.

Why would you do that? 5 years and 500+ videos of hard enduro @8-12psi and ive never had a tyre shift. The rims have a gripper milled into them. Add weight and unbalance the wheels for what?
@Shem
@Shem 3 жыл бұрын
Valid point. I'm not an experienced off-roader, so my decision to do that was based on the opinions of other more experienced offroad / adventure riders. I completely agree that wheels are the last place where you want to be adding any weight. In terms of balancing, not an issue. After I balanced the wheels (visible in the video tutorial), I don't get any vibrations at higher speeds (i.e. 80mph).
