I haven't tried, but you almost could I think. The bones wouldn't be connected would be the biggest down side, but if you separate your sprites by joints, add them all to a sequence, you should be able to rig it. Right?

It's nuanced. In this video, the coin object is destroyed but not the sequence. Technically the sequence would still be in the room, but animating nothing. This should be cleaned up by destroying the sequence as well. In the video you linked to, that is what he's trying to do. Destroy the entire sequence, not just the object within the sequence.
