Please check new version of coloring tool. New one is easy to use and more freedom when you draw a line part. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eXLKgKGdgrpkoZY This video version is a lot of strict condition and error when there is some missing condition(example: color of red green blue line) and when create layer set need completely black color and atleast one pixel of other color.

When I try to smooth the cel it doesn't copy the image, it creates a new folder with the pixelated image, why does this happen? PD: I don't know why that happened but when repeating the action of creating an a. folder it worked lol

Awesome!! Thank you so much for creating this! It's a difficult topic to explain clearly, but I can tell you spent a lot of time and effort on it. I think the end result turned out good! Especially with the way you organized the steps and also showed the demo, it was sufficient to understand it all. I love how you showed the Tools one by one, then demo'd it with 1 drawing, then demo'd it again with a cut of animation. I really like the way you colored the same area for all 5 cels at once, like an assembly line at 16:37. It looks so much faster and I wonder why I don't see Pro Animators color like that. They always do one at a time in the videos I see. Things I was most surprised by: 1) I didn't know about Auto Actions / Scripts! Thanks so much for sharing yours!! 2) CSP *doesn't* have a feature to auto-fill Color Lines?!?! That's such a basic and necessary feature for animation. I know that RETAS has an option to auto-fill Color Lines when bucket filling an area. In this demo at 6:03 I notice that when an area is surrounded completely by a Color Line, the Color Line will be filled. But when an area is surrounded by both Color Line and Black Line it will not fill the Color Line, like at 5:37. Same with most of coloring an actual anime drawing. Only things like Hair Highlights could be auto-filled because they are usually surrounded by only Color Lines. I hope that CSP implements a feature to auto-fill Color Lines, it would save a lot of time! Thanks again for making! Your videos are very inspiring and invaluable.

Yoshi Kirishima What I’m doing is keeping the color trace lines and main senga line in separate layers and also filling the flat colors and shading in different layers (first flats then shading/highlights on top of it that doesn’t create gaps in final cel) referencing those at the end I just turn the visibility of the color trace lines off. I’m a self taught animator and still learning. Am I losing anything for my process?

another option to edit the pixel line vector line can also use the shortcut c to change the color to transparent and thus eliminate or add pixels from the same vector layer.

yes, but it will make new vector line and interfere when you want to use correct line tool. that's why I won't introduce this method.

Thanks for a more in depth video! I've been using the method you showed in your first coloring video 3 years ago. I use the tools / auto action you demoed way back then and set the layer to monochrome to make it all pixelated, then run the auto action smooth function you made which compiles the layer into one smooth looking image. Seems to work well, but I may adapt my workflow to this way because it may save me time!

If you have CSP EX then just Export to OpenToonz as the coloring there is much faster because it will automatically fill the separation lines. CSP has a guide on it called "Coloring Clip Studio Paint Drawing Data in OpenToonz [EX]" google it.

Animators are using these lines before actual coloring to indicate Highlights and Shadows and/or gradient. Blue lines : Shadows outlines Red lines : Highlights outlines Green lines : Gradient indicator And they also commonly fill in those colors, which varies on our individual opinion. For example : (For the gradient, you don't really have to fill in.) Purple : Hair Shadow Yellow : Highlights fill in Light/Dark Green : Saturation Lighter Blue : Others (Clothes, skin...) Slight darker Yellow : Skin Shadows It really varies depending on you. I honestly use pink for accessories and orange for skin Shadows. It's very up to you to choose how many fill in colors, outlines you are comfortable with and in which spot you put them.

i tried to do the exact thing you did here, I redraw the image in a vector layer (and the lines are not smooth) with pen and curve tool, and now i cannot smoothen it. second issue, I'm having trouble with the fill part i can't use the fill tool and i also dont have the animebucket subtool that you have. It's up on how much you zoom. I mostly do camera work in composite software (like after effect , etc) you may if it's move every frame and you want to keep your line width to match screen. you may have to draw every frame manually. if it's just still image and you don't mind about line width on screen. you can draw it in high resolution and zoom it with camera work when composite. If you want to use still image and fixed line width to screen. you may have to use other software to deal with it. like adobe animate. you can draw in vector and resize it with same line width. I hope this help.

Result may not different. but I think It can be easy to cofuse when you work with a lot of layer + frame.

Maybe your base layer is not vector layer? If you won't use vector layer when animated, you can use Create_LayerSet_Raster instead

Create new Folder and new raster layer 2. put vector layer and raster layer inside folder 3. color raster layer Is it essentially the same as your autoaction or is there something I should look out for? @@rinn3470 My autoaction need 3 thing to run it normally 1. pen should be no anti aliaseing 2. main line color shoud be perfectly black (RGB 000 ) 3. need other color in vectorlayer (just 1 pixel is fine) It a bit tricky but this is easiest way to separate blackline and colorline(guide) with ton of layer when I animate. If you just do only 1 image of illustration. I'm not prefer to use this autoaction because it too limit to work.

@@Niccakun luckily im only practicing on a drawing of a ball! Thanks Nicca, i redrew the ball with no AA, worked like a charm. Now for some reason when i use the SelectColor tool and FillBlue autoaction it fills the whole. screen. I know you're busy so I'll figure this out on my own if i need to but if you know how to fix this please let me know

Tiny Winy Detach the auto action window as a floating window. Click on the hamburger play button on the top left corner. Click import then locate your file. Drag n drop will not work it only works with assets downloaded from clip studio.
