The not having a playmat actually happened to me. The first tournament I went to when I was 9 or 10 years old, the first guy I dueled said "Where's your mat?" I had no idea what he was talking about and then he just said "I can't stand players who don't use mats". He did give me a mat to use and then let me keep it after our match though.

Nah. Best way to troll them is to run a 60 card deck based solely around blocking every one of the snob's moves. Run things like Dimensional Prison, Storming/Drowning/Quaking Mirror Force, monsters that can't be destroyed by battle, etc. I used to run a decent troll deck where I ended up stealing my opponent's monster, tributing it and my Marshmallon for Gandora, and wiping my opponent out with that. Good times.

The real way to get to a Yugioh Snob is to play rogue tier and beat them. They will get so pissed off that you can actually do that, and they will storm off. Personal story time, one time I was at locals, this was a while ago, and I was playing my rogue-tier Ojamas, and just wrecked this Madolche player. This was back when Anjelly just came out, so Madolche was meta, at the time. This guy got so mad, he slammed his hand on the table when I managed to 2-0 him. He packed up his cards, checked "drop" on his slip, and stormed off. No one saw him for the rest of the day. But, seriously, try it. Take in a real legit rogue deck like Darkworld, Darklaw Turbo, anything that still can wreck people who aren't paying attention. ... Also, my Ojama deck runs 42 cards, I don't own a playmat, I don't know anything about these raid-raptors or whatever is popular now, and I play Vanguard now. Suck it, Yugioh Snobs.
@Celestial_Wing8 жыл бұрын
LOL! Another thing I've noticed is that some players nowadays have never seen a Monster Reborn or Pot of Greed in their life. My brother played Pot of Greed and his opponent was like "What's that do?". XD
@wadewilson33098 жыл бұрын
One Winged Ice Angel sadly it's banned so there's literally no reason to use pot of greed or monster reborn; although they made monster reincarnate now which pretty much is a nerfed version of monster reborn.
@dannieltaylor58338 жыл бұрын
Wade Wilson Well, actually, I'd say it's very different from monster reborn; similar? Yes. However, it can be used in very different ways. For instance, you can also use it to snag hand traps back from your graveyard, so it's not really bad, honestly.
@wadewilson33098 жыл бұрын
Danniel taylor yeah only downside is you have to send one card to the graveyard. Though that can help exodia players.
@dannieltaylor58338 жыл бұрын
Meh. With Exodia, you usually just play dark factory of mass production. Although, some cards work best in the graveyard. You can dump some cards to the graveyard that you want there for their own effects, or to bring back with another card.

@EricSmyth4Christ9 жыл бұрын
Gepdox XVI Only problem with 41+ cards is that the deck is literally %2.5 less consistent per card. It is super cool if you do it to bm your opponent, but it's definitely not a viable strategy to purely increase win rate. %110 of the time. (Just trying to help)
@EricSmyth4Christ9 жыл бұрын
Kevin eleven duelist Think of it like this. Let's say the legal limit for a deck was 20-60 cards. Would you run 40? Would you run 25? You would probably run 20 huh? 20 Would simply wreck havoc, and would flow with super consistency. Sure you can run 33 cards and still win, doesn't mean it's better. Same goes for 40 cards. You can run a sub optimal amount and win, but 40 is best.

So *_basically_* they kinda hate 7 things that keep YGO as a whole _fun_, _interesting_ or at least _worth my time_ lol let's see... 1) *Variety* in cards for more strategies in 1 deck (let's face it you can still play the game with over 45 cards so there's no "you're a noob if you don't stick with 40" thing here, just think outside the box people, in fact my lucky number is 51 XD) 2) being original not caring for meta cause being some *meta bandwagonner* is not your thing 3) not carriying around some *overpriced piece of plastic* since you don't really need it. 4) talking about the little thing *that kinda started it all* and keeps it relevant just cause it's fun. 5) not needing some *overpriced folder* when you can carry your cards decently in a box if you're organized 6) talking about the chance there's another card game you will try that just *might be* actually better 7) the *main escence itself* of any game no matter how competitive you are XD that's actually why i have a lil grief for some "pros" though but it feels fun, it's like i'm the underdog "Joey" among a bunch of snoobish "Kaibas" _so yeah_ annoy them is fun then so i'll try this more often ;}
@gao46056 жыл бұрын
1 - 40 cards is optimal 2 - knowing the meta doesn't mean playing the meta 3 - it helps your cards not get damaged, playmats are $15 and made of rubber 4 - the anime is irrelevant to the actual game and is nothing like it 5 - binders are $20 and they keep your cards safe 6 - no card game is better than yugioh, if you disagree quit the game (joke) 7 - fair enough

Recently I won a tournament using a shaddoll deck witch relied heavily on fusion, most of my fusion spell cards cannot be negated by effects, i beat this one guy in my second match using a standard fusion strat and he called me "cheap" and "not going to win using that deck" I proceeded to win with that deck. Now I'm a regular at the shop and never use meta decks. I use what I think is fun and I love that. Play what you like, you don't need to use meta decks to win.

There is a point with the 40 card thing rather than just snobbish, mathamatically speaking it lowers your chances of getting the cards you need. not impossible, just less likely. i usually just make 40 or 42. if 41 a card either gets added or dropped
@TeamAPS9 жыл бұрын
+cj watters (Rellik) The idea was just to poke fun at the rigidity to which some people follow the 40-card rule. The actual logic behind it is totally sound, though!
@kuroshinigami91439 жыл бұрын
i get the joke, i tend to annoy alota people at locals with 42 card deck XD
@sentaukrai9 жыл бұрын
+cj watters (Rellik) I run an average of 45 cards in all my deck (all 30+) of them. The all work just fine and have good momentum. I found that a few extra cards is good to have when you get locked down or stalled. Plus with so many searches its not like a few more really matters. As for sixty, a self mill like lightsworns can deck you out pretty damn fast.
@kuroshinigami91439 жыл бұрын
With my Majespecter Odd-Eyes Magician deck im currently using, i do run 45 since it has so much searching and i hate having to cut out cards i like. i wouldnt go over 45 personally tho

@@drizzt04 ya cuz 6 minutes is too long for this generation's simple minds to handle already... if it was like 20 seconds longer then they would of got bored or raged on how long it is. They have to get back to their mobile game to check up on their 10 hour long buildings and then text every person they know for the 50th time that day... This is the mentality of this generation... so sad.

From the points in this video, I feel like I must be a bit of a Yu-Gi-Oh! snob (except for the winning or losing thing). Although the difference is, I don't care what others do, and I'll gladly take semi-battered cards if it's a fair trade and it's something I need. Also I do regularly watch and enjoy the anime. :)

@CoolWinterWind9 жыл бұрын
xxxGuitarHeroAcexxx There's a lot of times at locals or wherever that you're in a cramped place and your main deck is too close to your right arm and it makes it harder to draw. I used to think it's stupid, like hand shuffling 70 times a minute, but putting the main deck next to the banished zone sideways is another good idea.

#1 - Run more than 40 cards. I love doing that one, especially since I can shut down their arguments about how I ever find or draw anything when I need it. How? Simple: A 60-card Ghostrick deck with... 3x Jiangshi 3x Stein 1x Doll 3x Mary 3x Specter 2x Parade 2x Terraforming 3x Dorklord 17 Main Deck cards that are capable of searching/drawing/Special Summoning (9 of which can do so repeatedly and 15 of which are searchable themselves) and 3 Extra Deck cards capable of search and even cycling dead cards for live ones. Suck it, snobs. :p

The same could be said about the Pokemon video games. Always that one douche who criticizes your team and calls your team trash because you don't run copy and paste Smogon Pokemon that they claim are "the best". But then you end up sweeping them during a battle and they claim you cheated or didn't follow Smogon rules.

What's wrong with having a 60 card deck? I mean I use 60 cards myself.
@singleslashygo3167 жыл бұрын
Blackmetroid It's horribly inconsistent since a lot of hard staples are on the limited/semi limited lists and a lot of key cards are needed as soon as possible. For an example, D/D needs to see one of three hellgate covenants in their opening hand, but playing more than 40 cards makes it less likely to have in your opening hand.
@KujouCh7 жыл бұрын
Or one of the contracts or copernicus, who is basically dark contract terraforming. But considering how much of a quick game yugioh has become, you want your deck to be as consistent and quick as possible. In Magic, you want your deck to have at or as near to 60 as possible for the same reason: consistency. I'm sure above 40 cards still flies in older formats, but you have even less chance to pull your limit 1 cards and such.
