Just as a heads up, 2000 DEF on a level 4 monster without penalties was introduced a month after the OCG started, with Aqua Madoor in March of 1999. Dark Artist was released 4 months after Madoor in Booster 3, and on that set there were other Level 4 mosters with more DEF (and even some with more ATK than its DEF), than it. It basically was born powercreeped.

The joke about wallshadow is that the animeeffect actually was that of a defensive attacker. Basically, the stonewall as a monster was used as the battlearena because season1 came up with a lot of nonsense-gimmicks like that because the story was written before the cardgame was made. The shadowmonster was fused into the wall with poly to create wallshadow and it was able to attack without having to fear having to actually engage its opponents. It just baffles me that they failed to retain the one part of that whole duel that would have made sense in the actual ruleset.

So, a friend of mine made a localized tornado deck and it is one of the best decks I’ve ever seen. He runs all out assault and the basic strategy is to run cards that excavate low level monsters from your deck out onto the field face down, to then flip then with all out assault, getting their flip effect and continuously repeating this with localized tornado after the low level monsters die to tribute summons and other board wipe effects. It’s amazing, it won’t always win, but I have lost to it before.

I've used localized tornado in a Jowgen Final Countdown deck. There was something really fun about my opponent thinking that I'll deck out first and activating it on their end phase and ending up with basically a full deck. After that I'd activate a previously set Necrovalley so they couldn't recycle cards if they could. It was a frustrating slog of a deck and if I played the game irl I'd get my teeth punched in and I'd deserve it, lmao.

Cold snap is used for canceling out negative effects in cards. Although niche, you could use cards like Aegis of Gaia. You can gain 3000 LP, then activate cold snap to cancel the 3000 damage you would take. This can also combo with call of the haunted, birthright, ect.

Just one thing: Localized Tornado can turn useful in a highly toxic deck where the strategy is to destroy the opponent's deck. Cards like "Jar of Greed" allow you to return 5 cards from GY to the deck + draw one, but they can't return themself from GY. So Localized Tornado can be used to return 3 copies of Jar of Greed to the deck (plus all the GY and hand), which if used correctly basically allows you an infinite deck loop

I did use Localized Tornado for Master Duel event. That was first Extra Deck event and people are banned from using Link monster. But Konami did let Fire Prison out, so i take it as advantage as 1/2 Mystic Mine. I negate all monster eff, played Appropriate and and bunch of draw cards to force all players draw cards, then finally use Localized Tornado to reset my deck since i always got deck out first. Without 2 Localized Tornado, i could not use that strategy.

I've actually used Localized Tornado in a gimmick deck where I just draw a shitload of cards every turn to power up Slifer and I could deck myself out in 2-3 turns. That was several years ago though, and obviously not competitive.

Report is especially bad because it loses the surprise factor usually innate to traps. As soon as they see a single "your opponent must attack x monster" card they know you have report and so will gladly burn your back row when otherwise they may have saved it, because its basically THE trap card for that effect. Something like the myriad trap holes can work because its hard to tell exactly what is in use, so you don't know when is the best time to burn the back row, but with this trap it's so obvious that you'd basically have to run extra traps solely to bait removal. Which is even more cumbersome setup that the "force then to attack into my big monsters" niche doesn't need.

Self-Mummification is meant to get rid of monsters with bad effects like Lava Golem or clear the own monster zone for cards like Cyber Dragon (this bypasses the rule that you can only normal summon, tribute summon or set a monster once per turn), but I have never seen it in a side deck.

I had one very good use with Self Mummification. Have the card to be set, then at the Battle Phase, attack with Shooting Quasar Dragon twice or more, then activate Self Mummification, summon Shooting Star Dragon and attack with IT.

So funny story about localized tornado. In duel links, before the one card wonder skill (one card opening hand but draw two cards every draw phase instead of one) got nerfed to only work with all dark attribute decks and before lava golem’s burn damage got halved, tornado was an integral part of my strat. 30 card stall deck with one jar of avarice to shuffle 5 cards from the grave to the deck and draw a card paired with localized tornado meant unless one of them got banished, I never actually decked out. Took that monstrosity to king of games and idiots like me are probably why Konami nerfed that skill 😂

Self-Mummification is not that bad when I look at cards that give you a benefit from when they are send to the graveyard. Like "Makyura the Destroyer" where you send him to the graveyard when your opponent summons a monster and then you activate Torrental Tribute or Bottomless Traphole, or "The White Stone of Legend" what brings Blue Eyes on your hand, or the "Maiden with Blue Eyes" which nullifies the card and then summons Blue Eyes. I mean yes, the card in general sounds quite "Why do you exist?" but as you said with cards that benefit from the effect, it's not that bad.

Theres this spell card I have called chaos greed, I dont know what type of use you can get out of it or I'm just bad at the game but the spell allows to draw two cards when four or more of my cards are removed from play and there has to be no cards in GY, I never been in a situation where that would be helpful.

There's a card that only released in Japan called True Exodia. This is a Level 1 Spellcaster-type monster without any ATK or DEF points. Its effect is : If the only monsters on the field are this card and 4 "Forbidden One" Normal Monsters with different names, the opponent of this card's controller wins the Duel. It even has the worst victory condition. And this card is expensive; on eBay, the lower price I saw was almost 200$

Boss Rush coulda been a good card for the list. General summary…part of a like 10 card bad archetype (BES), continuous spell that prevents you from normal summoning or setting (!!!), only effect is that during the END phase of the turn a BES monster was specifically destroyed AND sent to grave, you can special summon one BES monster from your deck. Of which most are bad and most only gain their effects from normal summoning them…like what lol

I understand that there are cards which are considered "bad" by the more competitive players of the game. Not every single card printed is going to be the next game-changer. Some are just poorly designed, or are so specific they cannot be reasonably used in high skill settings. Some cards are more suited for casual play. Then cards like Dark Artist come around and I genuinely feel like going up to the nearest tree and apologizing for the utter waste of cardboard that was used to print it.

actually localized tornado save me in a duel my hand was empty i had a monster on the field that could get me the win but i needed an equip spell that had been sent to my graveyard so i activated localized tornado when my opponent attacked and use a posidon wave to protect my monster then the card i drew was the one card i needed so while a garbage card it does have its advantage

I think in my opinion the worst card in the game is True Exodia. This card has the only effect of “If the only monsters on the field are this card you control and 4 “Forbidden One” normal monsters with different names, your opponent wins the duel.” This card has a somewhat hard condition to activate its effect and it just makes you lose.

Zone Eater is proof Konami just shits out whatever it wants. There's no game testing or design team. Zone Eater came out AFTER man eater bug and there was no upside to playing zone eater over it. No water support at the time, no better stat line, not even an anti-flip flood gate that would justify it. I stand by what I say Konami lost copyright to Yugioh after printing Dragoon and there is nothing any duelbook scrub could make that would be as stupid, and it's proof they're not fit to profit off the brand.

Localized Tornado and Pot of Generosity are niche anti-mill cards, I wouldn't put either at a top spot. I wouldn't put Localized Tornado on this list at all as it has many applications, ranging from countering mill decks to saving your butt in something like Lightsworn (Jar of Avarice is better, but localized works if you are heading into a draw phase with zero cards in your Deck).

@@gejamugamlatsoomanam7716 Funny enough, Pyro Clock of Destiny actually predates Final Countdown and Zone Eater was actually one of the *four* cards it worked on at release (Lightforce Sword, the promo only Nightmare Steelcage and Swords of Revealing Light being the other three). Swordsman From a Distant Land doesn't work with it due to slightly different wording.

In the anime Neo Bubbleman was an Extra Deck monster. -2 is still trash, but it wasn't the flaming pile of trash it is in the TCG.

Unless I'm missing something (which is quite possible), I don't see how Neo Bubbleman is a -4. It's a -2 to summon right? And even with the whole Bubble Blaster "combo" he mentioned, its still a -2 since you trade 1 for 1 with the opponent. Right? But in any case the card is from 2005... Did you expect something like: Special Summon this card (from your Deck) by sending all cards your opponent controls and in their hand to the GY. Unaffected by other Card Effects. During either player's turn (Quick Effect): ,You win the Duel. Oh and Your opponent cannot activate cards or effects in response to this card's effect activations. Also Negate stuff... can't be destroyed or targeted, Summon can't be negated etc.. cause why not. But seriously though its obviously some stupid thing used in the anime probably once and they adapted it into the actual OCG/TCG trying to keep the effect as close as possible.
