As awkwardly funny as the handshake was... it actually becomes way sadder in hindsight because of what Beau mentions later on: that the vast majority of physical contact they had... was whenever they kept hurting each other. And every time they fought it was never done through free will but because Yasha was being controlled. So... it only makes sense that while they WANT to show more affection on a physical level, they can't because of that. The closest they get aside from the times Yasha carried her...was holding hands. It also makes sense when it's VETH that gets a hug and not Beau... because Yasha can't do the same for Beau due to that fact. It just hurts all around.

The dagger hasn’t been mentioned very much in game since it was taken from Avantika’s remains aside from once or twice during encounters. On top of that, it’s curse hasn’t been expanded upon beyond having an almost inseparable attachment to it. The curse could very well be nothing more than that. Though, I wouldn’t put it past Sam and Matt to keep the specific details close to the chest until it came up. Sam is known to be one to play the long-con.

I mean, they did acknowledge in a Talks that generally speaking, Sam's behavior would be considered in poor taste and bad game etiquette in many many DnD groups. The difference is of course, that this group knows their friend's sense of trollish humor and appreciate it. Marisha said something along the lines of "I would be *pissed* if it weren't so goddamn funny." I think people who got a bit upset about his behavior *do* have a point in that its generally not good behavior for most groups and shouldn't be emulated without checking in with your group first to see if people are okay with that kind of metagame trolling. That said I'm not about to condone rabid hatred and harassment. Personally, I don't like what he did and would be upset if someone did something like that in my games, but I can also recognize that the Crit Role cast are fine with it and often appreciate the humor of it. Just... maybe don't totally dismiss it as "not a super important thing" if for no other reason than that if you do the same thing in a game of your own there is a reasonable chance you might seriously piss off other players if you haven't already disscussed what is and isn't permissable behavior.
