So, when the Nein destroy Lucien in the final (well, climactic battle I guess, Trent is technically the *final* battle), Caleb tries to use an ability he has from being a Transmutation Wizard to cast Raise Dead on Mollymauk, whose soul they are hoping is preserved within Lucien’s body. Unfortunately, the spell fails but Caduceus successfully uses the Cleric feature ‘Divine Intervention’ to restore Mollymauk’s soul to Lucien’s body. Thus, Caduceus was the one to change Lucien’s mind and heart, and to save Molly’s soul (now, it’s not *exactly* Mollymauk anymore but instead a character named Kingsley but, as Taliesin plays him, the implication is that he’s still ‘Mollymauk’ just assuming a different identity and with some fractured memory and a different personality. It sort of takes the wind out from under Molly’s resurrection, but I’ve come to terms with it).

(>-__-)> Like, I love Matt’s storytelling as the DM, but I love it when he steps aside from time to time to give Liam free reign to describe in detail some of Caleb’s items or surroundings (especially with the depth of his character’s backstory being what it is). But there are times when the things he describes, or the depth in which he describes various objects or personal items or locations, has just the perfect wording and it breaks my heart and makes me wanna hug him. You can hear his character’s pain in his voice, and he’s so phenomenally good at what he does.

Celebs 8th floor reminds me of the core memories from inside out a little bit I wish we knew what was in the rest of them. It seems like they’re in order of time but also like it’s all of his past leading up to this new turning point in his life (meeting the nein at the inn) and he feels like he can’t let himself fully be this new person because he still feels shame and guilt from his past so still has to drag along this old version of himself. Sometimes I just wish I could give Caleb a hug.

Okay, this episode was wild and I have some theories on what's gonna happen next (spoilers warning, just in case) 1. Lucian is going to at least try to do his 'Collective Mind' thing on Beau and Caleb, whether it will be contested will a roll or not is up to question (my guess will be yes due to unwillingness) 2. Beau will entertain the idea of forcefully removing the eye with Magician's Judge or other means. 3. What the Tomb Takers need from the Nien specifically is Yasha, or more specifically, Yasha's blood.

It didn't occur to me until the second time through, but there's no reason Caleb couldn't devote two of his unseen servants in the tower to being silent simulacra of his parents, just going through a memory of their daily routine. I almost wish they had been, because it would've been immeasurably sadder and more poignant. As much as I love the group trying to be positive influences, helping Caleb move on from his personal demons, it felt misplaced here. If they had stepped into a memory of it burning, it would've made more sense, but this memory was a positive, if painful, reminder of the life he had before, an anchor tying him to what makes him different and better than Trent. It bugs me a little that they try so hard to get him to let it go

As this campaign goes on, I'm finding it harder and harder to watch, as I continue to find the over-arching narrative personally unsettling. It's all masterfully crafted, which is, of course, part of the reason why it's so deeply uncomfortable for me to watch. So, videos like this, even at it's hefty length, are about the only way I can continue to consume campaign 2. Which is all a very long-winded way to say thank you for making this, and your other highlight & funny moments videos, and I hope you continue to do so.

@@Mightymajin it basically books down to the fact he can walk unaided but gets waited on hand and foot by his daughter and son-in-law and grandson. Unlike the other 3 in the bed we know it's possible. And Charlie gives him money for tabacco (a luxury the family can I'll afford) and somehow buys a bar of chocolate instead. How did he do that if he's bed ridden? The fact his leg haven't atrophy to the point of uselessness means he could and has been walking for years! Some also complained that the fizzy lifting drink situation was his fault, as he not only endangered his grandson but almost cost him the factory. I don't know if this is the issue Mr Mercer has with Grandpa Joe but it's certainly the most common complaint.

@@toddalexander5015 No, he took the Mariner's Armor that they found, which was some form of leather, and got the enchantment removed and put onto a breastplate. Fjords AC wearing leather Mariner's Armor with his shield would be 14. It's currently 17 because he has the Mariner's Armor breastplate (4 AC), a shield (2 AC) and a cloak of protection (1 AC). Fjord has no dex bonus, so light armor (like the +2 studded leather) is bad for him. Now that he's a Paladin, he has heavy armor proficiency and would honestly be better off putting the Mariner's Armor enchant on some chain mail (the heaviest armor he can wear with only 13 strength.) The non-magic chain mail with his non magic shield would put him at 19 AC with that cloak. The +2 studded leather would be way better for Veth or Jester, and it shouldn't require attunement. Typically simple +1-3 armor does not require attunement, so there's either something else special about it that we and the nein don't know, or Matt misspoke when he said it required attunement.
