Hi about the fillings question-wouldn't this treatment be free on the NHS?
@FarisDent2 жыл бұрын
Fantastic question! Usually for paediatric patients yes NHS treatment would be free - but in this scenario it is not clarified if the treatment is NHS or not!

hi, are there any particular reasons why there is distrust when it comes to dentist and patient relations?
@FarisDent Жыл бұрын
Not sure ! Probably fear from general population

What do you think I should do in this situation. I am a bright student and currently in 1st year of A level. I don’t have too much work experience and I didn’t work hard for my GCSE’s however I still got good grades. The problem is. These grades don’t transfer to predicted A*AA-AAA so it’s unlikely that I’d get an interview. However I am confident that i am going to work extremely hard through A levels and get the grades that uni requires. Therefore I am considering to take a gap year so I get the grades instead of relying on predictions (that will probably be ABB or something) and doing a lot of work experience and building my knowledge of destiny and health care. Do you think this is a wise decisions. Also there’s a part of my school that allows Sixthform students to mentor younger years. Would it be beneficial to get involved in this. Thanks in advance and the video was really useful.

I'm confused you said you are in 1st year of A-level so why would you have predicted now when you apply for university in second year? Dm me on Instagram and we can discuss this further.
@lMK1l4 жыл бұрын
Faris Dent I don’t have instagram but what I’m saying is my school is very likely to give me lower than required predicted grades. So I’m considering a gap year to build on my personal statement and so that I’m applying with actual grades (which are likely to be higher) rather than predicted plus more work experience etc.
@FarisDent4 жыл бұрын
You can do that if you feel your predicteds are going to be low but only make the decision once you’ve got your predictions/ are 100% sure they will be too low

@@lMK1l Hi, I just wanted to say that there are other options too - St George's offers biomed with ABB, which you can then transfer onto the medical course there if you are above a certain threshold e.g. top 30 students in your cohort after studying biomed for a couple of years

Hi! For dental school interviews, how much do you need to know about actual dental terms (eg. carious lesions)? Also, how much dentistry-specific work experience do you recommend doing?
@FarisDent3 жыл бұрын
Not that much - basic information!
@sanciageorge45303 жыл бұрын
@@FarisDent Do you by any chance have any places (eg. websites, books, etc.) you could refer me to in order to have that basic knowledge?
@FarisDent3 жыл бұрын
@@sanciageorge4530 You can look at dentistry.co.uk . Additionally, google helps with most things as you need surface level info.
