Hey Jeff, Thanks again for all the videos. I am being interviewed for a leadership role. If there is a questions around my leadership style, let's say Sue asks - "what is your leadership style"? Is that a cue to answer in CFAS method and in this what would be my clarifying questions? Any guidance would be appreciated.

Sidharth Das, I like using CFAS for this question. I want to uncover if they want to know my leadership style in regards to people, process, or technology. I would highlight my key leadership skills (framework), make some assumptions about where to focus these skills and solve wearing the hat of the role. Now you can take this as a more straightforward question and simply answer, but at a minimum I would still clarify if they have a specific leadership area they would like you to focus on.

Thank you Jeff for all of your amazing content! Really valuable. Is there ever a time that you would use a 'real life' example to answer an open ended question? For example, after asking clarifying questions if I had a time when I experienced this situation could I offer to share this? Or is it better to stick to the higher level framework, then solution since the question was not posed as 'tell me about a time...' ? Thanks!

Christen, I encourage you to answer open-ended questions by problem-solving. You can ask them if you can use an example, but that is not the intent of these types of questions.
