Agreed. 5’8 150 pounds average shoulder with for height and 30” waist. I can conceal a Glock 17 and spare mag no problem T1 holsters. The wing, the flexibility, all make the gun disappear. As best as possible. And the form fitting to the gun. Not weird gunna and lips to get in the way like other holster that aren’t formed nearly as well and really isn’t as nice when you pull the gun out or re holster. Love T1 holsters.

Great video, love the holsters (I have 3). Regarding picking things up while carrying: what people fail to realize is that proper body mechanics require you to use your hips instead of your back so the way you showed how you pick something up (squat) applies regardless of whether you're carrying or not. Carrying appendix just makes you more aware you what you should already be doing.

I enjoyed the demonstrations and techniques of this video. As a Police Firearms Instructor, I would like to add when going number (2), we teach police to place their firearm in the crutch of their pants when using a duty holster. I think this concept would also be applicable for concealed holsters by placing the whole rig in the crutch of the pants. This is very consequential because there have been quite a few instances that officers left their weapons in the bathroom. I do teach Draw from Concealment to civilians, and like and will use the techniques demonstrated in the vehicle. Thank you.

I have been carrying appendix for 3 years now. I carry everywhere except when I am asleep in bed. I literally carry on body when I'm at home. I love all this info and I totally agree with everything said here. I do all these things and no one taught me them. I just learned them thru experience. One thing I would humbly add: when in the vehicle, you have much less risk if you leave the seatbelt in front of the holster. Just make sure it stays down over the holster along your belt line. If it continues to slide up, or if you bring it behind between your holster and belly you will have much more risk of injury during a crash.

I’ve carried AIWB everyday for about 3 years now and for first time conceal carriers I’d recommend carrying everyday for at least 2 months before deciding you don’t like it. Put the effort in to figure out tips and tricks and carry at home too. I carried with an empty pipe til I felt comfortable with everything and then I started carrying hot. I switched to a T1-M for my current edc a few months ago and I love. By far the best holster I’ve used so far. I bought 2 more for other firearms to carry since then haha.

My two favorite little guns to shoot and carry are the ruger lc9s and the sig p365xl. But the sig rusts easy. I sold mine cuz of that but I shoulda kept it and just cerakoted it.

As a former Paramedic of 6 years, I can tell you having the lap belt part of your seatbelt riding above your pelvis opens you up for a lot of potential SERIOUS abdominal injuries in a car accident. I'm 5' 9" 150lbs, and I carry an MR920 with X300 and comp with a sidecar. One of the big things that made it comfortable for me are getting the ride height to where the bottom of the holster is above where my waist articulates like y'all talked about. The other was using Velcro sheets to attach Dr. Scholl's heel support to the back of the holster in place of a wedge. I've used T1C's wedge before, and the gel supports feel like they distribute pressure much better. And of course it also levers the gun on my beltline, so the grip presses in more. Also. Length of gun matters but not in the way some people think. I have found it more comfortable to carry this G34 sized gun than it was to carry my 43x. The extra length allows it to lever better like I mentioned before. The 43x always seemed to want to angle forward because there was hardly anything below the beltline to keep it properly in place. So. Don't fool yourself into thinking a smaller gun is better for AIWB.

Are handguns completely banned in Canada?
@mouthbreather280
@mouthbreather280 3 жыл бұрын
@littlerascle59 Thankfully no. Not yet at least. Handguns are for the most part entirely legal. You can only shoot them at the range however which is unfortunate. Our laws don’t make any sense at all. So you can take most long guns out to rural areas/government land and shoot, but pistols which fall into the restricted category of firearms, have a few more transportation, storage and discharge requirements. Also our pistol mags are limited to 10 rounds kind of like some US states. Hopefully all this changes though on September 20th. We have a federal election that day, and if we can get the Liberal Party and Justin Trudeau out, the Conservative Party has promised to scrap our current laws and rewrite a new Firearms Act to make life fair for gun owners. If Trudeau wins again (God forbid) we’re likely to have to say bye bye to what guns we have left after his last May 1st 2020 ban. That’s why I’ve panic bought a new Glock 17 Gen 5 just incase our dictator wins another one and bans handguns next. Which he has signalled he would support if re-elected.

@@TwinTurboLsx I wish buddy. I’d love to be in a freedom loving, patriotic state like Texas. They even passed anti ATF laws which is awesome. Unfortunately immigrating to America legally is very hard. You need a parent born in the US, or for an employer to agree to sponsoring you under a work permit. Which involves a lot of extra paperwork for them to hire you. Likely I won’t be able to legally immigrate and work in the US. The immigration laws are too hard for Canadians. It would be more legal for a border jumper from the southern border to come in illegally and work, then seek refuge and become a citizen than a freedom loving Canadian to get citizenship. One of the things that I find very helpful is wearing a compression shirt as an undershirt between myself and the holster. You get the benefit of having protection from the gun and holster rubbing against you when you move around, and because of the material and the way they fit there's nothing to snag on during the draw stroke. A good quality belt and the foam wedge really help as well.

Good tips! I have carried appendix for about 2 years now and it works great. You end up just figuring it out after a few days and it's no big deal. I work on cars and I am crawling under vehicles and wedging into awkward spots under a dash or over a fender all day and I have no problems at all. I would just reccomend a good carry belt without any metal clips and stuff so you don't scratch or scuff a vehicles paint or anything. I have a seperate holster for firearm and extra mag holder but I place them in the exact position you guys showed. I like it because when I'm at a urinal I take gun out and place entire holstered gun in my right pocket and the extra mag carrier in the left pocket. Sure its not perfect and sticks out a bit, but it's not falling and its a bit easier for me with that setup. Have a good one.

If wearing a dress, roll it up in your dress since you have to lift the dress up anyway to use the bathroom.

Once you start carrying AIWB you'll almost never go back to any other way. Honestly, the most difficult part of carrying that way is buying a decent holster made for AIWB. A good one isn't cheap and a cheap one isn't good. I've carried this way for a little over a year and most people still don't believe you can do so comfortably and discretely. But it did take a leap of faith to drop the coin for a proper one. Great videos and thank you for all the tips!

In the bathroom stall I don't even unclip my rig, just slide the whole thing over towards my left thigh (right handed) to clear the zipper. That way I don't get into the habit of removing my rig in public. On the toilet you can just lower your pants and reconnect your belt buckle with pants about calf height, again keeping your rig on your person. Keeping in mind the height of your stall wall.

Also, with a kore essentials belt it's SO easy to undo the belt a little while you're sitting so the holster is more flexible while you sit, and when you get back up just pinch the belt together again to tighten everything back up. Make sure your shirt isn't tucked behind the gun before you tighten the belt cuz then you'll have a huge print, but no ones paying that much attention anyway.

I'm surprised you guys didn't mention your concealment wedges. I find them really helpful in both making AIWB more comfortable and in reducing printing. I find that carrying more towards the one o'clock position helps me stay comfortable in a seated position. I almost have the holster in the crease of my right leg. In this position, when I take a seat (say at my desk or getting into my car) the muzzle end of the holster stays well clear of my sensitive bits. It also gives space for restroom operations so that there's no administrative firearms handling in a public area.

I appreciate the advice you shared for scenarios like using the bathroom that might seem trivial, but to someone fairly new like myself its very helpful. I have been shooting for more than 20 years but until the beginning of this year I had not committed myself to carrying concealed on a daily basis. I've been practicing proper techniques for about 4 months as well as learning all the guidelines set forth here in ohio. Along with the training given in my ccw course the advice you've been sharing for the more real world day to day scenarios has been very helpful. I'm currently at the stage of finding a holster and practices that suit me personally in a day to day sense. I'm pretty much a t-shirt and shorts kinda guy and was wondering if you have advice for carrying in the summertime weather and tips for carrying when I'm sure to be sweating as it relates to comfort as well as ways to protect my equipment from the sweat also. Thanks 😎

glad you found it helpful! If you get a holster from us you can select the option for a high sweat guard, which will put more kydex in between the gun and your body which will help protect it more (to a certain extent) from sweat. other than that, a good edc belt does wonders for concealment

Waiting for all the comments, "You're going to shoot your junk off!" I'm 260 lb and I carry appendix with no problem. I think the biggest part for me that makes it doable is the wedge and a strong adjustable belt like they sell on the website. I personally couldn't conceal my gun worth crap at the 4:00 position and found it very uncomfortable. Just get lots of training, dry fire reps to get a good and consistent draw, don't do stupid stuff just like with any other carry position, and you'll be good to go.

I know in the video you guys said it SHOULD feel different because you are putting a gun and a holster in your pants, possibly an extra magazine too. Currently I’m using a rather poorly fitting IWB holster that’s more designed for the 5 o’clock position and I love carrying Appendix! I definitely found that the combination of a stiffer belt like the Kore Essentials belt with a slightly baggier pant is the key. Having a belt that you can easily adjust without others noticing is huge when carrying appendix all day. Excellent points made! Probably the best video about appendix carry from the company that makes the very best appendix carry holsters on the market!
