How to Apply a Boxer's Fracture Cast

My 5th metacarpal is oblique fracture, 10weeks back, and i wore a splint for 6weeks, 3weeks back back splint is removed, till now fractured line visible on x -ray, can i use my hand general purposes like eating food, typing computer......

I punched a brick wall years ago breaking the two big bones in my right arm they said i had a boxers fractured. I had a cast on it.

sir I have met with an accident and my little finger(middle phalanges) was broken and doctor treated me with a splint. sir after healing ,the healed bone gains normal bone strength and is there any chance to break while punching after healing?

Punched a desk on 27.10 last year. 5th metacarpal fracture. Cast went off 25th next month. 26th January I punched a stupid face. 5th and 4th metacarpal fracture. Mine wasn't probably fully healed so I would be extra careful doing any punching anytime soon after injury of course

The casting technique used in this video are horrible! Shame on 3M ! I have used this product over 30 years as an Orthopedic Technician and I approve the materials just the technique was the worst!! I"m sure he's a nice guy and all but the lack of technician offends me. Navy Trained Orthopedic Technician of 30 years.

I agree with you because I have watched many other video's of how to do this and I also work in a hospital. Shame on who ever did this!!!

That was terrible and if you sent someone home like that, they would have raw skin and would call you for a cast change in a couple days.
