How to apply Bedliner. Avoid these DIY MISTAKES. Herculiner roll on bed coating.

We're working on to freshen up our old truck bed. We used this HERCULINER spray/roll on bed coating. Avoid making mistakes and watch this first.

By putting all in the bucket blending before adding the hardener was a good idea.

For those here saying raptor liner is better than herculiner then you need to watch Farm Project testing on roll on bedliners cause Herculiner beat Raptor and actually the testing he completed showed that neither Heculiner nor Raptor won. DuraBak-18 came out on top then EGC and then Herculiner. Raptor actually came in 4th

I watched a guy do some testing on all the major bed liner brands and he did a pretty good job, like adding 15 lbs weight to a garden tool and dragging it over the finish so it was reproducible between tests. The Herculiner did pretty well. But what it didn’t do well with was extreme heat it started to get soft at temps that can occur in an area like phoenix. So that is something to consider.

@OrangeTree253 - I haven’t seen the testing you’re talking about, but I live in central ca. and today it’s 117* - so far the Herculiner has held up great.

@@BadAtHunting that is about phoenix level, and good to know. I ended up buying the raptor stuff and put it in yesterday. I should have worn gloves, cannot get it off my hands and fingers. What a marvelous product, lol

Yeah, I had the same trouble with the Herculiner. It was a pain to clean off.

Yeah I watched that video as well, for my bed I’m using Heculiner, to paint the whole truck I’m using Raptor.

I went with a very rough grit, I think it was an 80.

why not use raptor liner, any preference

I chose Herculiner just because that’s what Home Depot carries in-store. I didn’t have a real preference for brands, just wanting to find a cheap DIY kit I could use.

Some guy did a video on the durability of multiple bed liner brands and the raptor tested by far the worst in cracking and chipping and adhesiveness. Herculiner is your best bet.

Do the research, Herculiner is better than raptor liner by far! Just like surface shield is better than Fluid Film! RESEARCH!!!

should of sprayed it on you wouldn't have that blotchy look from rolling it on. a liquid liner needs to be spray so it will look uniform. i used raptor liner 140 from autozone 30 for the gun then 30 bucks in clear tarps and 180 grit sandpaper from.home depot. spent 4 hours in total from start to finish.

Yeah, I agree. If I had to do it again I’d try and spray it. The main problem I had was I didn’t mix the parts properly.

Rolling is fine. Probably the product was stored in the wrong temperature

Yeah, i think you’re right. I could tell it had bean sitting on the store shelf for a while - so who knows what happened to it while it was in storage there.

@@maxaddicks1743 so the thirty dollars for the gun assumes you have an air compressor already right? Love the idea of spraying it on, but don’t feel like buying a compressor
