well you did a good job of explaining the license, ive had mine for some 32 years now. and record keeping is paramount. but you can sell the weapons you purchase with your license as long as the buyer fills out the proper paper work and you keep it and put the info in your log book. great job explaining it though. and yes dont sign your original license. make copies and sign those when you make a purchase and for gods sake get a copy of the license of who you purchase from for your records.

I have been looking at getting my CR lisence but with me being away from home for 9 to 11 days at a time I wouldn't be home when my orders would come in so I'd rather for the time being use my local ffl until I find a better way

That is new to me. I have never heard of that. Everything was pretty straight forward. I never met with anyone.

@@JonBoyMilitaria Thanks from the day I sent the paperwork in on 11/2 and it came on 12/15 44 days including weekends. Now wait for my Garand 7 weeks out. I with I could’ve made the trip to the CMP south store like yourself but for me here in Colorado it’s a 19 hour drive maybe some day. The rifles you picked up looked pretty amazing!

thanks Jon ... i have a large old firearm collection ... i was in the military and was able to get CMP rifles directly ... but i had not heard of the C & R license ... have you had luck buying firearms on line (like from gunbroker) using your C&R license? thanks again.

I received my C and R license back in November. So far I have only used it for the rifles I purchased from the CMP in December. Hopefully this year, I will make some good purchases using it.

They didn't call me. I just sent the paperwork in and then I received the license and other license information. Honestly, it is a pretty simple process.
