This is so helpful! *Very boring question* - were you finished/happy with your proposal before you started contacting supervisors?? Trying to work out when's best to make the first move...Thanks so much!

It isn't boring at all! I definitely wasn't finished with my proposal before contacting supervisors, I knew I wanted to look at the construction of queer identities in popular romance fiction, but not the specifics or practicalities of how that would work. I would say I had a short paragraph, 3 - 4 sentences outlining what I wanted to do and how I was qualified to do it. Then I developed it a lot with my current supervisor before officially applying for funding etc. Hope this helped and good luck!

Hey! I didn't attach my CV when reaching out to researchers, I did include an academic CV when I was applying for funding applications but that happened afterwards :)
