Thanks for making these videos. I have a simple question, while applying for the technical student program, the required document says: CV, transcripts and 1 recommendation letter only. So should we also upload the motivational letter in pdf as an extra document there ? (Using smartR portal)

Yes you can upload motivation letter as an additional document.

If you can upload multiple files, you can upload them one by one or else you can combine and upload. I think the criteria for reference letters has ow been removed. It used to be there before, but now it's gone.

I don't know about the deadlines, has been a long time since I checked the dates for myself. well add whatever you want on your resume, but yes be warned you could be asked questions related to what you have added on your resume. Your resume is fare game :)

Hi, in this form there is a section for writing a message to the hiring manager. But the thing is I dont have any kind of idea what to write their. So it would be very helpful if you could able to give some idea about it.

Filling this section isn't compulsory but you ca write a short SOP (Statement of Purpose) here. So, you can just say why you would want to work at CERN etc.

The last thing which is troubling me I want to ask is that right now Im in my 3rd year and this CERN internship session will start is next year septembar like that but that will be my final year and from tht time only placements session starts in my college so tht means i will not be able to sit for the placements?

yes thats true, so maybe you should have a look at some other options as well, either ways you can always apply at cern after finishing your bachelors, you can apply for fellowship then.

I'm sorry but no. this program is only for students. You could apply during your masters (if you ever plan on doing a masters). You could take a look at the fellowship program.

sorry, i can't share my letter of motivation. i think uploading file is required, message to hiring manager is an optional field. just see which one is not optional and you will have to submit there.

@@AnishLearnsToCode Because there are a couple of grades of which i'm not too proud of ahahahaha. I specified my averaged grade, but I'm not sure if it's enough

I get what you are saying, even I have a few I'm not proud of but if you average is good enough then there must also be some exceptional grades that have brought the average where it is. I don't think that CERN is super struct about grades or that they require very high grades, so submitting past grades shouldn't be that bad but no it is definitely not compulsory I feel. Anyways take whatever I say with a grain of salt. Different departments might have varying degree of seriousness towards grades, so... 😕

Hi can we apply for technical student program after finishing our engineering bachelor. I mean can we apply after finishing our 4th year or is it compulsory to apply within our undergrad program. Plz help 🙏

You cannot apply for the technical student program if you are not a student in any university, so you have to be a bachelors or a masters student to apply for the technical student program, sorry. But if you have completed your bachelors then you can apply for the Fellowship position.

I am currently finishing my 2nd year but I fear that in most Indian college there is 75% attendance rule, if we want to attend the technical student program we have be abroad for min of 4 to 8 months as of I know. Is there any suggestion u can give to overcome this problem.And what r the qualifications and other extra activity we should have to be in the good books of the selection committee. Plz help brother 🙏

what I did was I took a one year break from college, so i just stopped after my 2nd year and went to CERN for a year and then I came back and resumed college, so converted my 4 year degree to --> 5 years. what many people also do is they just talk to their university to allow them to take online classes (all classes are anyways online today) and they fly back to give their exams and fly out to CERN.

Bangladesh is a non member state so I'm sorry but no. You can apply for the short term internship program.
