There is no standard CERN interview process. All teams have a different interview style. Having said that, I don't think CERN demands very high level of DSA in interviews, but you should at least know the basics.

They also asked behavioural questions like how I would respond in different situations etc. Having said that, there is no standard interview process at CERN. Hi, I just got a notification about being selected for a video interview for the technical student program. This is the computer based on right, the one in which questions are flashed and we have to answer them. In the mail, I was asked this: To prepare for this interview, we will be asking you a few questions, broadly about: yourself, a project you’re proud of and why, your technical/administrative strengths, your motivation as well as what your ideal work environment looks like and what you hope to gain from this experience. firstly, im shocked that i even got shortlisted(?) im panicking and don't know how to prepare for these basic questions. i dont really have a 100% complete project either

Thanks Anish! Really Helpful! I wanted to enquire about one thing the entry level renumeration for a grad is starting from 5k swiss francs, Can you give a vague approximation on the monthly expenses including accommodation in France and Geneva. It would be really helpful :) thanks!!
@AnishLearnsToCode5 ай бұрын
The expenses for everything in France and Switzerland are basically the same, even if you live in France (which I did) you will basically spend your entire day (work + activities) in Geneva only, so the only difference mainly will be rent/housing costs. You can find a decent room in shared apartment in Saint Genis Pouilly, France starting from 700 euros, and for 900-1000 euros a very good accommodation. Starting from about 1250 euros you can get a full apartment/house to yourself on the French side. In Geneva, even a simple shared room in apartment should start from about 900-1000 CHF, if you want your own single appartmet/studio etc. then 1200 CHf is the bare minimum. Housing is far more expensive on the swiss side. I will try and make a video discussing full costs that I had to bear as a Technical Student.

Hey ! I think that all complete applications get invited for CERN asynchronous interview, but that doesn't guarantee a job at CERN. You can add all the courses that you have taken on your CV, including but not limited to: 1. University courses 2. MOOCS (from Coursera, Udemy etc.) 3. Other courses but having a certificate to actually prove that you have taken them would be nice otherwise it will just be a long list of corses that you are claiming to have done without any proof. Having said that, having a long list of courses on your resume isn't the best. Your CV should be more focussed with just a list of the most important courses you have taken. and then it can also contain projects, past internships, experiences etc. Just courses isn't pretty great.

How much they cut? 2) Are the cites and area safe enough for girls? 3) My family is not well off financially. So, do they pay for travel allowance and stuff beforehand or after reaching there?
@AnishLearnsToCode9 ай бұрын
Hey ! the answers to the questions are: 1. They will make a monthly deduction for health insurance, but that is a really really good thing ! Healthcare is very very expensive in switzerland and if you ever need to use the doctor that will break the bank for you ! having this heath insurance means that you can go to any doctor/hospital in the world and your bill will be covered! So, that's very good. If this wasn't there, you would need to buy your own health insurance which is way more expensive. about 160 chf are deducted per month. 2. Switzerland is one of the safest places on Earth: www.thebrokebackpacker.com/is-switzerland-safe/#:~:text=The%202021%20World%20Peace%20Index,trip%20that%20will%20involve%20risk. i have many many times walked alone in the night even in the middle of forests (and jungles !! 🤣) and so far i have only encountered a few deer and a little fox one time (another story for another time). A very big chunk of the population here uses the public transport, and women easily travel here on buses, trains etc. at night. 3. They do cover travel costs, but the money will be paid to you only after you open a Swiss bank account, so only once you arrive there and open your account will you receive the money.
