Hey James I actually do. BIG TIP: Write to your local MP. I can't promise this will work and they may become very annoyed with me for mentioning this but a student of mine was in the same boat so they contacted the local MP who did actually write back and offered to contact dvla and try get there licence sorted. Can't promise it will work for you but it's worth a shot. 👍😁

Northern Ireland is abit different, you have to apply via NIDirect for a license if you live there

When he says another form of ID will work, what does he mean? Most English people speak to themselves only as against the impression they speak to everyone around. Being a UK resident is different from being a UK citizen. When you do a video like this, be clear it is for only British citizens. I can bet majority of those watching, do not hold a UK passport. So this online approach only applies to just a particular group. Even those with permanent UK residence still can't use this online facility.

Non uk passport holders can still apply online, they just have to send in their passport/brp, etc when they receive the application form

Cause its cost £34 to apply online, compared to ~£44 by post. Also, where it says if u have a uk passport, if u click no, it tells u to apply using the old service. ) So yes, u can still apply online if u dont have uk passport, but the process is slightly different. I think its the same if u renew And i think most of the viewers are actually british cause it says uk in the title, and doesnt specify for foreigners

@@annabelholland : You cannot apply online if you are not a British passport holder. That should be clear in the video - for UK passport holders only. A significant number of viewers are not necessarily UK passport holders, but still UK residents with BRPs and co. I'm not sure you understand the differences. It is this same reasoning that may have influenced how their site is programmed. If you are not a UK passport holder even if you are resident legally, just go to your nearest post office and do it manually. This is a significant message to go in such videos, bcos ideally what is needed here is legality not ethnicity. Your assumptions only UK passport holders view or need the information is wrong.

Actually I wait already 8 weeks and no news from DVLA so I start to feel dissapointment. I've sent paper version because online is only for British citizents and of course it is reasonable approach for them to take. I want to start a job as an estate agent and I can't because of their super delays. Does anyone is currently waiting for their Provisinal Driving License with paper application instead of online?

Yes it's because it's the paper version. Unfortunately it takes a lot longer than the automated online application

The same thing happened for me, however, if one does not have a passport, it's best to apply via mail, which is more expensive than online, and one also has to supply 2 forms of identity proof (if applying via mail using a birth/adoption certificate)

Hey Mercy if it were me i would call dvla until they answered. I would also email them repeatedly until they answer. You can also log into the tracker website and fill in the details to see where your application is.
