I’ve done mugs and acrylic tumblers with HTV. The acrylic tumbler has held up for more than a year. I don’t know about the mug because a friend requested it for her in-laws. She never said if it came off so I can only assume it didn’t.

Hey, do you think this is better that just using permanent vinyl, I have a heat press with a mug attachment, I like HTV because it's not sticky and easier to work with, but never tried this. Just wondering if you have compared the two.

There are instructions on the Cricut site. Not many know they're there but they are!!

@@AngelBDesigns you hold down the power button for 10 seconds, you’ll here two beeps and then you push the power button to toggle through the three settings. Then hold the power button for 3 sec to choose the setting you want.

Siser pronounced Caesar has to be heated usually at 275 to 305 degrees as per heat instruction for Siser the Cricut mug press heats at 375 to 400 that’s why the Cricut mug press is not recommended, you more than likely shortened the life of the adhesive the longer you heat siser at that temperature or even for just 2 minutes. It may work initially but after washing you going to have complaints of it coming off even if you seal it which isn’t recommended either it will seep under the edges and you will have unhappy customers I’m sharing this with you to save some headaches down the road Always check manufacturers heat instructions for each product you are using. Cricut heat guide is for Cricut htv which is a whole different animal. Hope I didn’t offend you I just couldn’t let you continue to do this without trying helping you out.

It’s great that you gave some input on temperatures but sadly, the help in other areas of your comment isn’t accurate and really needs experience in those areas to be truly helpful. It’s fairly apparent by your wording that you don’t have personal experience with this method/project. I’m also fairly certain you would’ve shared any personal “when I did that, it did this” stories you had about this process if you had some. Soo…I thought I’d share that I have personally applied HTV to hundreds of mugs, with this press, without a single complaint or issue. I do not seal my mugs but I have been applying HTV to wooden signs for years and, if the customer requests it, I seal those accordingly (polyurethane for outdoors, polycrylic for indoors), again, without a single complaint or issue. Hope I didn’t offend you, I just wanted to give you some insight from someone who has lots of positive personal experience in this area.
