How to Layer Cricut Infusible Ink Mugs! Using Multiple Colors of Transfer Sheets on Your Mugs!

Have you been wondering how to layer Cricut Infusible Ink on mugs? Let's talk about how to use multiple colors of transfer sheets on your mugs! In this video, we'll use a slice and set method to create an easy layered mug design. We'll be using a design from Cricut Design Space to make this fun mug that's a perfect gift for the outdoorsy people in your life.
If you've never made a mug in the Cricut Mug Press, this is a simple project for beginners! Mix and match different Infusible Ink colors to get a custom style.
Here's what you'll need for this project:
-Cricut Machine (Joy, Explore Series or Maker)
-Cricut Mug Press
-heat-safe surface and well-ventilated space
-oven mitt
-parchment paper
-Cricut Infusible Ink Transfer Sheets
-weeding tool and scissors
-heat-safe tape

I watched at least 3 other tutorials on this and this is by far the best one I found. Something as insignificant as explaining the sheet’s plastic back “stickiness”, helped me understand how it stays put. They suggest you put butcher paper around the cut as well, you could transfer ink to the inside of the press

Great tutorial - i tried something like this the other day - inset the other pieces - of course i tried to make them fit and they didnt exactly. Turned out ok - today I decided to re-fire black silhouettes of heron over a full background press of another color - of course I knew the background would fade and it did - next experiment will be to inset the heron or flamingos - and so be it if there is a white “highlight” around the pieces!

Is there a reason why you trimmed the sticky and then applied tape? Wouldn't the sticky you trimmed help hold it in place?

The grid design on the transfer sheet can sometimes apply to the mug, so I trimmed it just in case. The heat resistant tape doesn’t leave any ink behind, so I always feel safer using it.

I have a design I made with two colors for a mug. I have it lined up in the mug template in design space but when I try to cut it, it doesn't stay in place. It separates the two colors onto their own mats but the actual design is spread out all across the mat rather than staying in place where I had it. Can anyone help?

Hi, before you click “make it” select everything in each colour set (layer) and click “attach” this will keep everything together on your mat where it’s supposedly be. Hope this makes sense
