I would like to try this painting technique someday. The first time, I painted was when I was 8 years old. My parents stuck me in a closet to paint it. This video reminded me of that experience. 😊

Hello! I know this is a very old video, but I happened upon it and wonder if you have experience with a similar situation. I have plaster over concrete block walls in my bathroom (1912) that have seen many poor applications of various decorative treatments that are now peeling to what I suspect might be very old wallpaper. I haven't gotten to removing stuff, but a former owner left some nails with crevices around them in the plaster, and it seems there is no lath. I dream of one day being able to limewash these bathroom walls, so do you happen to know if it can be applied on old plaster that has been vigorously cleaned, if not scraped and/or patched?

It absolutely can! You’ll just want to strip all the old paint and wallpaper off and get down to the original plaster surface, then off you go! Smart strip is a great option for getting the paint off. Apply liberally with a brush, cover with Saran Wrap and allow to sit 24/48 hours, scrape off of with a plastic putty knife!
