🙋🏻♀️ I’m practicing using 🐚 for art, but the gel color and 🐚 make the nails very thick. Are they supposed to be thick? It may be Western preference for nails to be thin and smooth, and I am not used to thicker nails or textured nails. Thanks for your advice 🙏

Hi,Gaby😊Filling the entire shell with gel will inevitably make it thicker. In Japan, there are very thin shells and seal type shells, but what about in US? Even in Japan, it is common for the shell to become too thick by filling it in, so in that case, it is filed down to make it thinner. amzn.to/3FU3fVe

@@aska_nailist 👋 Aska-sensei! I bought 🐚 that are very similar on Shein and yes they are very thin! I was trained to cover nails with enough gel to make the nail perfectly smooth after filing. My impression of Japanese style art is it’s ok for nails to have a little texture and not be perfectly smooth? I think I add too much gel. Do you do Zoom art lessons?

Sorry, I don't do zoom art lesson😵Well, Japanese nail art is different from the American style in that the surface of the nail is not completely smooth and is often finished with unevenness.Japanese nail art has a lot of stones, chains, shells, etc., so I think it is impossible to embed all of these art parts with gel.

@@aska_nailist ah ok if you offer lessons someday I will sign up! 😊 Ahhh ok thank you for your insight, I think that is where I was confused! I was thinking I must be doing something wrong because I could not make the nail totally smooth! It’s good to know texture is ok in Japanese nail art. I think that is so cool!!!!
