Side tip: after running a bead, always push the "release" lever on the chalking gun to release pressure on the tube. This keeps the residual pressure from continuing to push material out of the tube.

I'm a 56 year old woman who has been figuring things out since I was young and there was no internet, so I am super grateful to have access to expert advice in a visual format that reduces the learning curve and time. Great no BS explanation. I worked heavy construction for 35 years and it never failed to amaze me how fast and accurately the caulkers worked. They could do a bathtub or the seam between panes on a glass wall in less than a minute and it would come out perfect. A real art.

Three months ago I did a decent job caulking the top of our shower pan where it meets tile, so I was stunned a few days ago when I noticed the caulk was cracked and had to be redone. Great video. Appreciate your clean, clear instructions without extra chit-chat. I have an RV shower (ABS plastic) that has a horizontal crack along the curved wall due to a shower rod installed by mfg & screwed in too tight. Talked to the mfg of the shower insert & they recommended using silicone but I was worried about the potential unsightly gunk left behind. Your video has solved that problem. Much thanks! This advice is spot on! Do exactly what he says and you will have a clean caulk line. If you are re caulking an old shower, remove all caulk, use mildew remover, if needed, next wipe down with rubbing alcohol and blow dry crack before applying new grout. If I can do it....

Great video. I always made a mess with silicone but never had a problem with caulk - not anymore thanks to you. The reason for choosing the ammonia-free window cleaner over its regular version is because ammonia will turn your silicone yellow over time. That's the same reason why not to use it on clear plastic either. Window cleaner works on silicone because it has alcohol in it, which is a solvent. Just FYI. Thanks again.
