Imam Omar Suleiman is the youngest, most wise and most well spoken. His choice of words is most impressive. He always quotes the Qur'an and the sunnah, discusses historical precedence and approaches issues realistically. MashaAllah!

We need to start our own journey but the reason people ask which school of thought, scholar or book seems right is because to learn during the journey we have practices in daily lives where different school of thoughts have different opinions and we need someone more knowledgeable and neutral to guide us in the light of all the school of thoughts than just us trying to get opinion of all the fiqs and trying to decipher which we think is right because our data base and commitment or time as women in a house is a lot less than someone learned, who is getting the complete Islamic education. As far as following someone around us is concerned, the issue stands. I believe I need someone who will explain me things in the light of all imams instead of preaching one ideology and it seems impossible to find someone like that at the moment. P.S: if someone can suggest a learned man of Islam with a blog or channel online who takes things from perspective of all school of thoughts and then explains their solutions for different topics. Not following just one school of thought. please guide me. Thank you :)

Sister, as long as you want to obey Allah & your Messenger you can stick one Methodology from prominent and mostly practised 4 School of thoughts. Caz all 4 are from Ahlul Sunnah wal Jama'a. Just follow one Majhab that is more available with Ulamas and books of that particular Majhab. Jajak Allah. Sa'ad Ibne Harun from Bangladesh 🇧🇩

@@saadibneharun9327 imams didn't have all ahadiths in hand that's why they differ but now alhumdulillah books are available and detailed research with concensus has been done regarding which ones are sahih(right) and which ones are da'eef (wrong) so stop saying follow any particular madhab, yes might be few hundred years it was alright but now you have the books and it is just as important as worldly academics to be learned and understood for the benefits of hereafter. If you read the past of these madhabs you will find lot of blood spilled in the race of ones madhabs supremacy. All imams said that if we find sahih(correct) ahadith then leave aside their jurisprudence and follow the sahih ahadith. Islam is Quran o Sunnah not (unnecessary) man made laws.

@@haterswillnotsucceed8089 We, as lay Muslims, are not more knowledgeable than those scholars or imams. They're scholars and we need to learn to respect their opinion. The Qur'an says, 'Ask the people of knowledge if you do not know.' (An-Nahl 16 :43). There's even a hadith of the Prophet (s.a.w.) that is rigorously authentic (Sahih) that says, 'Scholars are the inheritors of the Prophets'. So, you have to agree with the majority opinion of scholars. The Prophet (s.a.w.) also said, 'Whoever dies not adhering to the majority has died in ignorance.' (Tirmidhi) I'm not asking you to not self-study the Qur'an and the hadith, but you also need to know that Ijma' (consensus of scholars) is important. Even more so if you are not familiar with Arabic, since the translation often doesn't do justice to the original text. You can choose to disagree with a particular scholar, but if you disagree with majority of scholars you are not following the commands of the Prophet (s.a.w.). 'And obey Allah and obey the Messenger and beware. And if you turn away - then know that upon Our Messenger is only (the responsibility of) clear notification. (Surah Al-Ma'idah 5: 92)

@@tayyabshahzad688 bro you sound like a proper blind muqallid. May Allah swt guide us all. Pls do read my comment one more time. If majority is not following a mutawatir sahih ahadees then you are not compelled to follow them. In my country the majority worships at graves of ancestors and saints, tell me what should I do? Waiting for your reply!

@@haterswillnotsucceed8089 Allah says in the Qur'an, 'O you who have believed, obey Allah, obey the Messenger and those in authority among you.' (Surah Nisa': 59). So, if by a proper blind muqallid you mean someone who follows Allah, His messengers and righteous and qualified scholars, then yes I am one. Also, there are four schools of thought within Sunni Islam (i.e. Hanafi, Shafi'i, Maliki, and Hanbali). The consensus of Sunni scholars applies to the scholars of all four schools of thought among Sunni Muslims and not just the scholars of any particular country. And then there are the schools of theology namely, Ash'ari, Maturidi and Athari. Of these, the Ash'ari and Maturidi schools are considered the orthodox Sunni schools of theology by the mainstream Sunni scholarly opinion. seekersguidance.org/answers/islamic-belief/the-asharis-maturidis-standards-of-mainstream-sunni-beliefs/ seekersguidance.org/answers/islamic-belief/does-god-have-a-sex-are-asharis-and-maturidis-disbelievers/ Every school of thought and theology has it's own set of authentic prophetic narrations (hadith) and scriptural references (Qur'an) as a basis for it's beliefs (so they're all based on the Prophetic Sunnah). Also, the hadith literature is quite vast and you cannot really single out a hadith to find support for your argument and disregard the rest of the authentic narrations from the Prophet (s.a.w.). At this point, one needs to consult a mujtahid who can do ijtihad, i.e. deduction of Shari'a from the primary sources, since these scholars have studied the hadith literature in it's entirety unlike the average Muslim who picks up hadith off the internet or from hearsay. You should follow the opinion of the majority of mujtahid scholars (and can check the authenticity of the textual references to make yourself confident about following them). What the majority of scholars among Sunni Muslims agree on cannot be wrong as proven from the hadith I cited in which the Prophet (s.a.w.) said, 'My Ummah will never agree upon an error.' As for your other question, namely about the people in your country worshipping graves, you should know that there are etiquettes for visitation of graves, which is a Sunnah. The position of the Hanafi school of thought on the matter, the most widely practised Sunni school of thought, is given in the following article. (You might disagree with some things written here, but you have to know that this is the mainstream Sunni position, nevertheless.) seekersguidance.org/articles/beneficial-knowledge/forgotten-sunnas-visiting-graves/ As for another issue called tawassul. There are two positions on it. The Ash'ari and Maturidi school's position on it, (which is the mainstream Sunni position since these are the orthodox schools), is given in these articles. seekersguidance.org/answers/general-counsel/tawassul-supplicating-allah-through-an-intermediary/ seekersguidance.org/answers/hanafi-fiqh/do-seeking-intercession-tawassul-visiting-shrines-and-other-popular-practices-have-a-basis-in-our-religion/ As for the Athari position on tawassul (which is different from the mainstream Ash'ari and Maturidi schools), I believe it's best explained in the following article. www.google.com/amp/s/islamqa.info/amp/en/answers/3297 Now, you can choose to follow either of these positions, depending on what you find appropriate and desirable. I, personally, have never done tawassul while visiting graves, and believe it's a door to shirk. However, I don't necessarily have a problem with those who want to do tawassul since it's basis is in the Sunnah and the majority of Sunni scholars have deemed it permissible.
