Such a great point. Training with lower belts is a fantastic way to get better AND to help them grow as well. A win-win.

As a competitive zero stripe white belt, this video is very important for me.

my professor once told me, when going with white belts and blue belts, finish them as quickly as possible because if you let them do too much they can hurt you just because of their aggression and lack of control. I do try to follow that advice when going with lesser belts my own size or bigger, but when training with lower belts that are not as big or strong as myself (I'm only 5'11" 180 lbs) I will stay much more relaxed, let them work, & allow myself to get in bad positions to work my way out of them. As a 50 yr old black belt I absolutely won't let that happen vs lesser skilled dudes who can physically outmatch me. I've been hurt enough times in the past few years. I don't like having to sit out with injuries.

100 percent! using lower skill level partners to try new things, putting yourself in bad positions and getting out of them and working on areas where yourself is lacking. It is also good to look to try to control what you are doing more then using strength too.Thank you Giancarlo i'm always learning

How do you handle a spazzy white belt when they go balls to the wall? Do you guys just smash/cook them or do you give them subs?

Make them tired if your goal is to slow them down. Subbing them 8-10 times consecutively doesn’t slow them down it just makes them dumber.
