Thanks for this amazingly helpful tutorial, mate! I especially appreciated the way you demonstrated (by deleting media) that a simple save doesn't save the media library. Also, I love the way you anticipate the end user seeing "MEDIA OFFLINE" after opening the .dra archive file. Then you show us the easy fix. Brilliant!

Thanks for the explanation. Can it archive files that aren't part of the video. This would include images like the thumbnail and documentation about the project?

I have projects that I exported archives and when I try to reopen, all the media is missing! Don’t know how that happened. Now what do I do?

I'd really love to know this as well.

Do you need to delete the old files? I didn’t and when I archive my projects, the media files were not present when I tried looking for them. UPDATE: It’s back. It just needs some time to process the files. My bad…

Well, you clearly 1. Didn't tick the box to save media files or 2. You saved the media files but you had to relink them. I recommend you try and experiment with a few small insignificant projects and see how you get along.

Question. What media does this save? All Media in the bins? Or only 'used' media?
@niconcaraman Жыл бұрын
Great Question! From what I know it's the media you've imported in your beans but also the media that has been dragged in from other folders in your computer. I mean if you for example dragged a song or a picture from any folder on your computer without putting it in a bin in DaVinci it will still be saved. I recommend you experiment with a small project and see it for yourself.

Thank you! I tend to pull more media into my bins than I actually end up using so I was curious if it exported everything. Great video btw!@@niconcaraman

OK, having watched your vid, I have to retry and look for the link. Hope it works!!
@niconcaraman Жыл бұрын
Exactly! You have to find the location of the original media. The reason you a having this problem it’s because you didn’t choose “Project Archive” when exporting the project! I hope it’ll work ✌🏻💯

Sorry to say it did not work. I have archived several projects, with the belief that this was saving all used media with it. But when I import them, most of the media is missing. Disappointing and horrifying, because, to save space, I tossed the original media files! Too late now, but any idea what happened?
@niconcaraman Жыл бұрын
@@mellowmel2012 again you did it wrong apparently! You have to Export Project Archive (this is where it saves the media) Exporting the project will only save and export the timeline and the settings you have there! Though there still might be a solution to perform a deep search when pressing the chain icon in the top left corner(which should be red if the media is missing)

@@niconcaraman That’s what I thought I did. There are folders labeled .dra. Thanks for the info!
