Shemaal & yemeen are very similar with Hebrew smola & yamina. And many other words are also similar in these two languages, especially the basic vocabulary. Numerals are almost same. And even the pronunciation of some sounds, e. g. the typical Arabic [j] is pronounced as [g] in Egyptian, just as [g] in Hebrew, e. g. in such words as 'camel' or 'leg' it is g, not j. True for both languages. This is what I found for myself.

Sabah al kher ya amid, Is there any difference between 'ana rayeh al Cairo" and "ana barooh al Cairo"? The First act as an adjective and the second gets conjugated for Every person. Shukran
@Linguamid3 жыл бұрын
no they are practically the same - ana rayeh (m) , ana rayhah (f) is more common though

why cant we say ازاي بروح ?? with ب
@Linguamid Жыл бұрын
It is more common in spoken language to have the verb in the simple present (without the ب) after question articles - but you can hear the verb sometimes with ب from natives (but less common)

I wouldnt suggest asking for directions in Egypt 😂😂😬😬 personal experience
@Linguamid4 жыл бұрын
Yes - this is true in many cases, especially if someone does not know the direction but pretends and give false info, which happens a lot in Egypt 😀
