You keep outdoing yourself. I think you have pushed the envelope as far as it can go and hen BAMMMMM you pop out another amazing design. I think these are my favorite ones. I adored the wafer paper flowers on the wedding cake cookies but these are unbelievable. Thank you again for sharing your talent.

I've noticed that you are always so precise with all your work (which I admire and appreciate), which of course, adds to the time it takes to build each cookie piece. I don't know if you actually sell any of your cookies (or just do the elaborate designs for teaching purposes) but I'm wondering how would you decide how much to charge for such time consuming pieces.?

***** Thank you so much Julia. That was VERY helpful. I only design cookies occasionally for family/friends but I was having a bit of a struggle with feeling hurt when a small handful of people who would ask the price of a cookie bouquet and when told the price, would respond with something like, "Are you kidding? They're just cookies!" I was having doubts on continuing (though I love designing cookies) Perhaps because it was family/friends they expected me to only charge for ingredients but I just can't afford to do that. My "free time" is just to precious. So now my response will be, "No, the cookies you can walk into the grocery store and buy are 'just cookies', MY cookies are little works of art filled with real butter and real love, which are both very high quality ingredients. You get what you pay for!" Thank you again.

It seems like you're always using gingerbread cookies and I was wondering if there was a reason for that? Would other cookies, like a sugar cookie or a stiffer chocolate chip cookie, work just as well? Sorry if you've addressed this before but I'm a fairly new subscriber.

Gingerbread is harder, normal sugar cookies can crumble or even break much faster. You can make the flat cookies with sugar cookies, but the bigger ones or even the 3D-formed ones would probably break when you try to handle them.

Thanks. I figured it had to do with something along those lines but many people I know don't enjoy gingerbread cookies. So I was hoping I could substitute.
