Thank you! My Hyper is same bike but the brakes got old and they don’t smoothly release - I tried increasing the spring tension that aids release, and white lithium oiled all parts. I removed the rear brake top ‘mounting bolt(?) and even oiled inside. I worked them in and out by hand. Still they are stiff and old, so they release very little and not consistently. Maybe rusty inside? Is there a way to improve it? I couldn’t remove the ‘caliper levers’ or whatever they are called. HALP! ❤😂

If it has not worked for a long time and has been exposed to rain, there is a possibility of rusting of the brake wire. Tilt the bike and from the part of the brake handle, put W40 or the oil completely into the brake wire cover so that it comes out from the other side, and then apply the brake a few hundred times and release it. Check the brake arms that move easily And if you still have a problem, replace the brake wire completely Sometimes, several strands of the brake wire inside the cover are cut. good luck. www.amazon.com/brake-cable/s?k=brake+cable www.amazon.com/Universal-Housing-Bicycle-Replacement-Mountain/dp/B08D9JX32F/ref=sr_1_16?keywords=brake%2Bcable&qid=1707449772&sr=8-16&th=1
