Quality video mate. Awesome job of the DD guard, very well measured. I love my DD Jump Guard, it saved my £400 light from taking a dive in the tank and stopped the goby from hitting the deck at least 5 times! Worth every penny. Loving the channel - you are doing such a great job.

🤣🤣🤣 I thought mines would have ended up that way considering I cut it freehand with a jnr hacksaw on top of 2 rodi water drums but think I got lucky!

@@BeardedReef since yours is pretty new, i would probably apply a bit of aquarium safe silicone on the ends of the cuts, salt water and metal don’t mix, might rust but saying that mine hasn’t rust yet but its only been a year old and i do notice salt creep happens there.

Thanks for this as I have also been considering this DD jumpguard or splashing out on an acrylic one. No pun intended! I like the black finish with the tank. Have you seen the feeding cup they do now?

I can highly recommend them, if you take your time to make the cuts clean then it looks really nice, the acrylic ones are nice but I believe they get some condensation on them and they are also really expensive, yeah ive seen the feeding portal but I just lift the lid off as it is dry and probably just as easy, thanks for the comments!

Any chance you would be willing to share your measurements on the cuts? Got mine coming this week for the same tank setup.

Yeah no problem, so I cut the bars on the long side to be 385mm and the width to be 300mm (that is the length you will need to cut the bars to) then just press in your corners and it will fit perfectly, I would double check your tabk measurements too before you cut to make sure it will be ok, I have the pen mini 15g and fits mine perfectly

@@BeardedReef how do you like the prime on this tank? Actually have the same light on a biocube that I'm transferring things from to the WB, literally we're building identical tanks, and I'm not trying to copy you lol. but I'm also debating a new light for the new tank

The prime is awesome for this tank mate, I have mines on the flexible mount and it is perfect, the light is probably overpowered for what you need but just tone down the settings a bit and it's fine, I would definitely recommend fitting it to yours mate!

How big would you say the lid was when it was finished, like length anf width?

435mm x 350mm is the finished overall sizes
