You explained and showed that so well. Just so I understand, your motors were engaged, but you did not have the ProStitcher channel locks selected? Thank you!
@angiesanswers912 жыл бұрын
Yes! That’s is correct. My favorite way to do this is with the Pro gears down so the crosshairs are orange but no channel locks engaged. If you don’t have a Pro, you can use the white hold tight clamps and that will create resistance in both directions to make it easier to sew straight lines. Thank you for watching!

I love this tutorial on how to attach the binding. But I am wondering about the step to square the quilt before binding. How do you ensure it's square?
@angiesanswers912 жыл бұрын
Hi Cathy! I use the channel locks that are built in to my Pro-Stitcher computer. This will lock the machine so I adjust the fabric to meet where the machine is stitching. I create all my 90 degree corners with the channel locks. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!

Great video and instruction. One question … I noticed that side clamps weren’t used. Is this on purpose and if so why?
@angiesanswers912 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Pat! I don’t use the side clamps when putting binding on because the quilts is all quilted in the middle so nothing can really move. The clamps are important while the rows are stitching. :)

I have just one question. Do you square up your quilt top prior to putting it on the longarm? If not how do you make sure it is square before sewing on the binding? I am a newbie at this so any info would be greatly appreciated. TIA
@angiesanswers912 жыл бұрын
Hi Martha, We use the channel locks on the longarm to square the quilt. So we start on the top edge and sew from the middle out with a channel lock. Then we also use channel locks to keep the vertical edges square as we are quilting down the quilt. We do have a video on this whole process on our website called Load it, Square it, Quilt it! stores.longarmconnection.com/classes/ Keep a quilt square can be tricky and the more comfortable you are with basting the edges the easier putting binding on will be!

I charge $.07 per inch around the quilt at attach to only 1 side. If they want it completely attached and finished I charge $.21 per inch. Say the quilt is 90x108 so I add 90+90+108+108 = 396 then multiply $.07 or $.021 I have another video that shows how I machine bind to close it up and finish it.
