If your attic door seals well, do you think it is still important to add the extra thermal layer?

Sealing well could be almost impossible to prevent air movement between the house and attic. Wood to wood does not seal air. If you added weather stripping so that rubber is sealing at the wood, then you have a good seal. But if it were me, I'd add this regardless. Pretty easy and affordable. Thanks for the question!
