Idk if this is really different for scottish peeps but seriously, you won't get anywhere if you let the shy person take the lead. Because guess what! We tend to be too shy to talk to you. Somethings change and some things stay the same. Over 30 years ago I met my wife's grandmother who was visiting from Scotland. She wasn't too sure about me until she had my Texas brisket and chili, and found out that that I baked her welcome to Texas cake. She was more interested in that than what I did for a living or much else about me. Once she got around asking what I did and my girlfriend (now wife) told her I was a teacher. That bothered her until she found out that I taught at a university. For some reason that changed her attitude. I know that to someone as young as you 30 years seems like an eternity, but at least, the food aspect hasn't changed a bit.

American dude here, so here is mine..... #1: Food. I can burn water. lol....I can't cook for crap. #2: Road Rage.....Big check. I can be very creative with my verbal bashing regarding the lack of driving skill or awareness of other drivers. #3: Poetry......Nope. Not my thing. I say what I mean, I don't feel the need to add color or flair. I'm just straight forward. #4: Scary movies.....I do not find them scary. I don't think it's a 'macho' thing with me, it's just difficult to get the suspension of disbelief when watching them. I laugh in most of them. #5: Being Physical. I love hugging my wife and cuddling. Just holding her, or softly rubbing her back as we watch a movie or whatever. I don't mind handshakes, but I do not like hugging strangers, especially other women. I've had a thing since I was in my early teens that if you're not my girlfriend you do not touch me. (Not including family of course) It's a hyper loyalty thing. I'm not saying it's right, but I've always been that way. Oh, and I am a mix of races, Scottish being a big part of it.

XD Point Number 4: Anxiety issues prevent me from being all physical if I don't know someone well, but once I do, I'm a hugger. And in relationships, I can't get enough affection. XD Point Number 5: That...is an incredible point. I never thought of that. I'm naturally shy, but I once I get confident in a relationship I tend to take the lead, but I do make sure to take my significant other's wishes into consideration and discuss decisions.
