The part about association by scent was good...so simple and something i had pondered but was over complicating things with trying to be ultra stealthy. This coming season will be my first ever at 44yrs young (only waterfowl and upland and some hog hunting most of my life). So I'm lucky I have 3 different counties to hunt in my state all on private land and I'm the only one hunting them. I have doing tons of research and studying as I'm just trying to put meat in the freezer, and if I get a nice buck then it's just icing on the icing.

What is the best time of the year to set yp s feeder on your land?
@SurviveTheHunt Жыл бұрын
I like to set them up between may and July. That gives the deer plenty of time to get used to them

Did you have any problems running the big tine through the spin feeder? Was actually putting out a few spin feeders this weekend. Always used gravity feeders. Not much experience with spin feeders,. Need something high in protein and minerals that I can run through spin feeders. Thanks buddy
@SurviveTheHunt2 жыл бұрын
Not at all. Big tine and most protein feeds work pretty well with spin feeders. Just make sure the feed or mineral isn’t moist

short grass also reduces ticks, ivermectin mixed with feed really cleans up the ticks on deer

If that feeder was 20 yrds behind you the deer would be on it in daylight and even bucks would use it. Then hunt the travel lanes. Been doing it for years. I also set the timer to go off at noon.

Apparently I taught you NOTHING!!! You are supposed to hold the feeder over your head and lift the legs up into the base. While trying to get the last one in, you should be shaking from overexertion and then turn it loose so it crashes into the truck and busts out the window!

I'm going to start leaving some dirty, sweaty clothes in the stand or tied around a tree near the feeder. Maybe an oily old rag with a trace of gasoline on it.

Lol. Deer will find the corn and any other food in any vegetation. Dude, they are animals! The trimming tip is bs and not necessary, and actually changes the scenery and area from what they are used to. The feeder addition is enough "change" to have to deal with. You're overthinking this. 😂
@JohnTrucker-d9s8 ай бұрын
deer do not need to search for corn in high grass. They have plenty of food all around them that is much easier to consume. This is a fact and obviously you are not an experienced hunter. The only thing corn feeds in high grass is mice and squirrels.
@nickcasto80093 жыл бұрын
That's only shooting deer, no hunting involved.
@SurviveTheHunt3 жыл бұрын
Lol thanks for the comment. I suggest you google “hunting” then come back to tell me how this doesn’t fit. I understand it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s probably the most common way deer are hunted in most states. Hope ya kill a big one this year!

@@zachtheiler4283 If you can afford a device to be on KZbin I think you can afford a bag of shelled corn. And this is a way that you can compete with guys who have food plots and farm equipment which everyone can't afford.
