Learn how to fold your mirrors automatically when locking your BMW luxury vehicle with our auto folding mirror feature.
To start, from the BMW IDrive console, click the My Vehicle menu. Then, after clicking into the vehicle settings tab, located on the Doors/Key sub-menu, and scroll until you reach the ""fold mirrors when locked"" option. Once selected, the auto folding mirror technology will begin working the next time you lock your BMW luxury vehicle.
Protecting your car side mirror and passenger side mirror with this feature is helpful if you find yourself in tight parking spots, or if you're concerned about damaging their mirrors. The BMW Auto Fold Mirror feature is here to ease your concerns.

My 2019 430i coupe doesn't have this checkmark option. How can I add it? I also downloaded the BMW app but can't get it to complete software upgrades either.

Something I've discovered today (I still need to verify it). The settings is missing in the iDrive. BUT if I lock the car by resting my finger on the door handle and keep it there for a few seconds, the mirrors do fold. Locking the car and removing the finger rightaway doesn't folder the mirrors.

@@saras6797 2021 is not that new, there are newer 2023 models, if you want the latest tech, buy the newest model when it comes out, or else I dont see an issue..

They point blank refuse to fold out on unlock on my 5 Series/G31 when it’s icy/frosty! Something not quite right with the design…

It does that to protect the motors. Fold the mirrors out manually with your hands when it’s icy/snowy.

I’m about to purchase a preowned 2016 x1, it has power folding mirror, but i dont see this option on the settings. I would love to have mirrors folded automatically.
