I'm doing basically the same thing with TH-U and Cakewalk to automate pedals and scenes. 1 track for guitar with TH-U plugin, 1 backing track and 1 midi track (with output set to TH-U) to automate any footpedals.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Camelot can also switch PDF documents (music scores, chord charts or annotations, for example), and is available for iPad as well. A Free version is available on our website: audiomodeling.com/camelot/try-buy/ . You may want to try it out!

Wouldn't it be much more efficient in terms of CPU performance to only load one TH-U instance and then switch the presets in this one instance via program change?

Yes, it’s the best way, as TH-U supports seamless switching itself. Anyway, most users are not proficient with MIDI. Camelot seamless sound switching allows any plugin to switch preset with no sound interruption

I'm an Apple MainStage power user and I reckon that although Camelot has a quite long way to go to catch up with what MainStage is capable of, Camelot is really promising, and I already like all the philosophy behind it. It's really well thought, congrats. If I didn't use MainStage , I would jump on it, unlike Gig Performer which is made with an outdated philosophy, and they spend their time in MainStage bashing instead of doing their thing. I don't know if people are aware of what MainStage is capable of, it's just incredible. Anyway, Congrats to Audio Modeling for this serious alternative to MainStage.

I currently use MainStage, but I downloaded the free Mac version of Camelot to test it because there is an iPad version and I'd love to bring an iPad to shows instead of my computer. It didn't seem to recognize many of my available software instruments which was disappointing because I really like the flow of the app and think it would be great, but I really need more of my synths.

@@ericrodrigue3413 can you list some of thr virtual instruments that Camelot has not recognized? Did you select all the formats (AU, VST, VST3) for the scanning?
