In multiple videos I have shown the tactic I use to interact with "nippy" or "bitey" horses. Most people have done this exercise well, however some people have gotten bitten. The only way a horse could bite you in a context like this would be if the horse's body was too close to you.
If your horse is standing a respectable distance away and reaches out to you with his muzzle then they wouldn't be able to bite you randomly. If however your horse decides to get closer to you, I would first make some space and make sure they are reaching out respectfully.
