Felix you make the same errors as many other KZbinrs cashing in on promoting Medellin make. You pick one or two of the dumbest victims then essentially tell us that as long as we aren't so dumb as them, then we are fine. But you haven't done your homework. How about the story of the USA businessman living in Colombia of Panamanian descent, fluent Spanish speaker who was stabbed to death by home invaders? No evidence of drugs, girls, or anything like that has been published. And you don't need to wear a Rolex. North Americans are presumed rich. Or how about the Asian guy from Minnesota that went back to see a known girl, one he has seen on previous trips and she set him up for a kidnap and ransom that led to his death. She played the long game, or later decided to turn on him. There's been plenty more accounts, and from other cities that don't line up with the German kid you wish was typical. Or let's focus on street robberies. In that case it's two guys on a moto with a gun or one or more on foot with knives or machetes. You could accidentilly be shot by a nervous thief even when cooperating, plus some people just don't like facing weapons. Or you can just be a sitting duck eating in one of the many open air restaurants. These sorts of violent robberies are very common, and why? It's because you are living in a very corrupt undeveloped country with very little law and order, nearly useless police that get no respect, weak courts, and penal system. Ask the locals if Medellin is dangerous. They will all tell you it is, and even some of the wisest among themselves occasionally get got. Much less a tourist, and especially those that can't pull off the local look, no matter how they dress. Listen to the locals people. Felix is still new in town and has a business to run.

@@FelixTheTraveler You can't vouch for those statistics as the vast majority of these crimes surely go unreported. Unless a death was involved such can easily be viewed as a waste of time in Colombia. And if you are out and about you are in the way, at least for street robberies. Taxistas are falling under suspicion more often so best to take Ubers. That German kid had just arrived from Costa Rica where drugging isn't really a thing. How many of us back in the States occasionally left a drink unattended to hit the dance floor? I've seen a lot of Colombians do it in Medellin. But the German failed to do his homework. I just believe that your next video on this subject, rather than only lambasting a guy like that, could cover a lot of specifics of what can go wrong in many different situations, while realizing that Colombia has little to offer in law and order. All are pretty much on their own, and those you think are friends can turn on you.

Just be real ther'es alot of people in colombia that lack morals and accountability and you're feeding into it. Tou didn't deserve that the other asian didnt deserve that the guy shot outside the club didnt deserve that and i keep going on. These people have opportunity they have the rain forest there tons of bio diversity lots of resources to make businesses and sell tours and even pets and crops and plants, they can go to college men and women, people of thailand just as poor and they not doing this as much im sure it happens but not like this
