How to Avoid The Crowds on Snowdon

Want to summit Snowdon but want to avoid the crowds? I don't blame you; here are my four tips.
I've summited more times than I can remember and I always prefer the quiet periods when few others are around.

Im walking the Wales Coastal Path and doing vids but watch lots of other folks vids on trails. Ive reached bottom of Llyn Peninsula but had a rest day the other month and drove round Eryri. So Ive now got the bug to walk up Yr Wyddfa probd via Llanberis Path. Your vids have been a great help and insight .presentation and quality is quite superb. Thank you.

No brainer, Dan. The only time I’ve had the summit to myself was spring 2019. Set off from Rhyd Ddu at about 4am and caught the sunrise up there. Only when I got down to the car were people starting to set off. In 5 hours I saw nobody until that stage. I am commenting at the risk of us both collectively tipping people off 🤣!

Great tips. I did my first trip last Monday (9th Oct) early and took the Rhyd Ddu up, Ranger down and it was glorious! A perfect first ascent. Few folk at the top was all really.

If you like this route, I think you like the Watkin up/South Ridge down route.

The last two times I've done Yr Wyddfa I've done it on a Sunday evening & there has barely been anyone on the summit. Last went up the Rhyd Ddu path on Sunday & I think I counted 10 people at most at the summit. Good tips though! :)

Thank you Daniel for more gorgeous images of Snowdonia. I went up Tryfan on a Monday afternoon in June (5th). Beautiful weather that day, a bright steely blue sunny sky, no wind and hardly a soul about! It was like peace of heaven.

Ha ha, we met on the summit of Snowdon on one of the busiest days this year. Like you, I love these hills, but I love the solitude mostly. Odd that you and I should have met up 😂😂😂 Anyway, top tips there once again. Keep up the good work.

just avoid Snowdon! so many other amazing peaks round there. but if you find solitude in an amazing place keep it to yourself. dont tell the world about it. I might add its not all about peaks - there are valleys too.
