This video makes me want to go back to Santorini. I was in Crete last week. We saw so many cruise ships in Santorini but we also saw people playing music at the sunset!

my top tip - Visit Santorini in Oct (like how I did) and enjoy amazing views with very less crowd. It was total value for money and I didnt have to compromise on anything.Booked an apartment in Fira with jacuzzi and walking distance to town centre. It was one of the best vacations of my life.

my brother's is from the USA and his girlfriend (Greek)have a small 2 bedrooms apartment in the middle of Santorini and in the month of July she raked in almost E10k. If she does this every year we will giver the green card to stay in permanently to stay in te greates country in the world, the USA

I have visited from the USA 5 times. Can tell you June thru 3rd weekand September- whole month are magical compromises... Busses are reliable, good weather, a given, and an option for beaches. JULY and August are insanely overcrowde except for smaller villages. I was there 1st week of July once. Saw difference don't go then June and Sept have been golden in recent years. The only place I found overcrowded in this shoulder was Oia . But Fira, the main city, is not jammed in that shoulder season all day. The Rest of the island is a little busy but quite manageable. If you need a break for the hr or two cruise ships heards flood town,you just take bus t9 Perissa, Kamari, etc. They they take 20 min and you can enjoy the town morning or late afternoon without getting crushed. Many nice reasonably priced bars and restaurants abound in Fira for watching sunset June Sept and early Oct street even Fira and other villages fine. If you have to go Oia once, do it early in the morning. But as the narrator said so much more to this island. Almost all can be reached on bus if you stay in Fira in the shoulder season.

Santorini is heaven. But many Greek islands are and many Greek islands that are known. Greece has 6000 islands. And then a heavenly mainland also. Also. Because Santorini indeed gets massive hype as like a posterchild for the islands to visit, it means that in peak season it is just too crowded for some people. And I agree. I actually don't like too many people. But. I visit Santorini in March/April, or October etc and it's per-fect. If people only knew how many other endless amount of wonderful Greek islands exist. Most people lack a lot of knowledge about Greece. Greece is 80% mountains which makes it an absolute hikers paradise. How many people know this. Go in winter across mainland Greece and be marveled by absolute beauty. But also. If I was a god and would put any of you viewers on 10 random Greek islands over the next few years as holidays, then each of you would be mindblown to how each of these islands were incredible each in their own way. Greece is heaven. Only those who have been traveling more and more to Greece know it

I went there just a few days ago. I felt as if they didn't like Americans very much. However, it was a beautiful place to see. It was one of the stops on the cruise I was on. It was very crowded.

My goodness. Santorini has really cashed in. I remember when there was no proper electricity there. BE prepared to spend money there!

I travelled to santorini last month. I experienced worst form of racism ...went to catamaran ,the captain the staff everyone ..they feel as they belong to exotic city..they have sense of entitlement ....Highly over rated,fleecing catamaran services put a bad taste ...go to lesser k own island of aegan instead

Racism? I think that's an excuse for your own shortcomings. They didn't like you personally, not because of your race and that's something you need to fix. I'm not white and I found the people on Santorini to be very friendly and hospitable.
