In 1987 I was in Ikaria with friends. We stayed in Evdilos and we used to eat in one of the tavernas of the port. We were stunned to find out that when the fish weren't fresh from the day's catch, they refused to serve us. Therefore, I strongly believe that one of the factors of their longevity is due to their honesty and clear consciousness. I have so much respect for these islanders and I hope that all that publicity didn't ruin their souls.

One thing that I've learned about the documentary is. Is not about the diet, the people, or the environment. Or what are our nationalities, our ethnicity, color etc. I have learned to be proud of our own nationalities, cultures, food, and diet. That's the key to long life. We shouldn't be accumulated by media, high standards of diet. Eat this eat that. Because in the first place, we Filipinos have a fertile land, good beaches, places, and more. Our diet consists of rice, crops, fish, and some meat. We dont get sick we also have centenarians here. Sticking to a simple diet and lifestyle.

Unfortunately tourism creates it's own problems. The government is pressured to provide the tourism sector with cheap labour, against the interests of the workers. Thousands of young people live under poor conditions, working up to 12 hours/day, very often 7 days/week for at least 6 months. Big foreign businesses have created their own hotels and they can't seem to find workers, hence the Greek govt is turning a blind eye to all the abuse the workers receive and even considering changing the laws for benefits, effectively creating poorer people looking for a job

I wished peoples realized the only change we need to make to again have that abundance of fresh water, we most obviously need (for e.g.'s to do laundry and/or the dishes, to take a shower or a bath all take a relative abundance of water, particularly for each of us, the world over) too due (to do) is stop deforestation-style logging, instead log sustainably. This would take selection logging with no highrading, saving relative old growth while maintaining canopy for hydrology, which is how the collective transpiration from forested areas piles up over hill or mountain tops, above ridges too, forming into rainclouds that dump rain. I recently saw a YT thumbnail of a video saying the Sahara Desert is greening, is that a good thing or bad. I'd say it's a good thing brought to us thru Wangari Matthai, who I think won maybe even a Nobel Prize for her efforts. She started the Green Belt Movement, you can look up. We need much more of the same and to get our governments to legislate aforementioned changes. So future generations can enjoy like past generations, please consider.
