I'm pretty hardcore about checking my truck out any time I am stopped and luckily, I work for a company where whenever the truck is in the yard, my boss and mechanic go over it just in case I missed something. It's great working for a company finally, I started in 99, that cares about the trucks and isn't afraid to spend money to keep them running.

Wow. Seems like a solid company. Most of these companies don’t wanna hear anything about truck maintenance or expenses

Now is also a good time to grab a gauge and actually check tire pressure on your truck and trailer bcz we are transitioning into cold weather. Not doing that might not put you on the side of road but puts dent on your pocket in terms of fuel economy

In the past when i worked for one of the ATA companies. I always let them know when i found something wrong on their trailers. Their response was take it to a TA or a loves. I asked to get paid for my time and effort they said they dont pay so i informed them i will no longer take the risk to my license and waste my time in a shop with their defective equipment

It is crazy what some companies expect from their drivers. Good on you for standing your ground brother. Stay safe out there.

Super singles need to be checked with a air gauge regularly if you don't have a automatic air inflation system . They are more unforgiving than duals if you have one blow out and only takes seconds running at highway speed to ruin the rim after a blowout.

The best way is not to ck them because u don't have these bitches on there. On a blue Monday while suffering from a brain freeze years ago I ended up with a set and I payed the price. Mist appointment at this Walmart in Grandview. ended up having to put 3pallets in a cold storage and have them del. 2 weeks later I blow 1on 68 Maryland but I put a spear on a rim 🤣. After del in Chicago I went strait to Lopez on Cicero and put new set normal on there and he actually sold these fccrs for 1800. God bless Lopez tire 🎂

Im not a trucker (yet), but one of my first jobs involved driving employees/contractors of a major oil/gas company. Of the 13-drivers, there were only 4 of us who regularly checked the vehicles at the start and end of our respective shifts (& the 4 of us found over 90% of problems before the problems avalanched to bigger problems). Long story short, there was a mass-exodus in protest of a firing (including the 4 of us). Found out much later that within the first 3-4months, each and every vehicle spent at least two weeks at the mechanics cuz smaller-problems snowballed; It was so bad with one of the vehicles had to be junked & replaced with a newer vehicle.

did a hard turn a few weeks back where my gladhand was pulled slightly and started leaking, I heard it in the cab, pulled over and a little push fixed it. Wish all air leaks were that easy.

Truck inspections should be happening all the time if you really hate the time and money lost due to breakdowns. In fact I check tires at every stop, those seconds spent can be worth hundreds if not thousands of dollars.

I take my duffle bag with flashlight, hammer, gloves, vest. ,zipties, extra gladhand rubbers, extra bulbs. Keep extra coolant and washer fluid in the truck. That's how you can keep rolling. Better to have it and not need it.

100% agree with everything, being an owner operator I'm astonished with the things people turn a blind eye to. Had a battery fail last year coming out of a bush road, that egg fart is definitely a perfect example of the horrible smell 😂. Keep up the good work! Small fringe minority 🤘🏻🤘🏻.

I did roadside tire repairs @ 0200. I had my company install me a lightbar across the front grill and a coupla spots like the cop cars have so I could work easier and safer. Gave up the job after losing a friend to a 10.00x20 lock ring that didn't seat properly, then my boss got his chest caved in changing a tire on the truck pad at the shop. I said to myself...this place is unlucky

I see alot of those "Me wana be first drivers" mostly Hispanic Guys just turn the truck on, never gets out to do a PTI and take off cause they wana be first to pick up a next load going back south, im like "c'mon there's loads for everyone you dummy" if the woman is being immature and toxic because of you not being back home quickly then very simple, (Truck Driving is not for you buddy)... I drive 60mph, take 15min to do a PTI eat breakfast and still have a load going back home relax 1 day we all die and we don't take non of this with us, just calm down and PTI the thing 🤷
