Woooo awesome video! One thing that helped me out a lot was practicing at an angle, that way you can see more and how the dolly reacts and moves. Try that with lead pup and dolly then with both pups. Wooooo this is awesome! I will be uploading more videos as I can! Oh the less turning the better, Shorty's react fast, so if you're wide open by the time you straighten you're jacked knife the opposite way 🤣. No more than 40° at most and straighten out ASAP. Wooooooo spread the knowledge! Be a trucker and not a steering wheel holder!

This is the best instructional video, the rest are “watch me back up” without any narrative at all.

Good video and excellent explanation of what is required to back up various combinations; My last experience with A train doubles was over 40 years ago, I was able to keep it fairly straight for maybe 100 feet assuming everything was straight to begin with. B trains are much easier, it's just like backing a truck and full trailer combination. The lead trailer acts just like the draw bar on a full trailer combination, with a little practice you can back it in anywhere you want. Now I have a 280"wb Pete and a 53' reefer, I get that backed in wherever I need to.

@@travlnman55 yep. The last couple years I owned doubles I was backing them into a parking spot twice a week,(got really good!) never thought about getting a video of it. Never imagined I’d end up driving this Tupperware truck with an automatic. Dropping and hooking 53’s. But it’s the most money I’ve ever made so hopefully it’ll get me through my last 10 years of this trucking life. Figured I’d pass on what I’ve learned to this last generation of drivers before AI and robots take their jobs 🤣

I'm American Trucker in Australia testing for my multi-combination license and we have to back up a set of doubles to pass the assessment. I'm about to practice in American Truck Simulator. Once I pass I can drive Road Train!

I'm Australian I've driven Road Trains for a little over 25 years in Australia we pull up to four trailers on public roads and we pull up to 8 trailers on some public roads but mostly on private mining roads anywhere from 26 metres long up 61 metres long on public roads if you think reversing 2 trailers is hard come to Australia were you have to reverse 3 sometimes 4 trailer's

Good luck, I couldn’t get it to work on ATS. I tried long doubles, short doubles, couldn’t get it to go more than about 30 feet. Something in the coding isn’t right. Idk?

I disagree! As far as a regular semi, I prefer a long tractor with a long trailer! What I hate the most is a short tractor and a short trailer. Second, I hate a long truck with a short trailer. Third, I hate short tractors, period, and short trailers, period, regardless of the combination! I'm not experienced with any doubles or triples, so I can't speakon anything regarding it! However, if I were to drive one, I'd prefer a B-train! It just appears to make more sense, and appears to be so much more controllable, whether going forward or backwards!
