Love your videos man. Learned the kick turn in the last few days on a slope. Transitioned to the quarter pipe. After several falls I’m starting to get it. This snap turn is my next hurdle. Much love and respect. If anybody out there is hesitant about starting, I’m 48 and started a few months ago. I love it and the progression is very fast as long as you do it a lot and aren’t afraid to go down to the skate park and ask the kids for some tips. I love surf skating

Congratulations. On your channel you provide details step by step that others don't "hide". Could you also make a video on your vision of a nice pump flow: A video where we can see how you move your arms, compress/decompress when riding straight or curves (heel+toe side)... I find it hard to pump heelside in a curve because then I have to do rather the opposite ...

This is one I still struggle with. I either over-amp my slide/snap and fall forward off my toe side or I don’t put enough into it and I fall back off the heel side. For the life of me, I can’t figure out why I have no control over these. Great work here, Shane.

Hi Shane, are your sufskate board's wheels made of soft stuff like rubber, or hard stuff like plastics? I couldn't make SNAP in any way, and I'm thinking it may be because of my soft wheels. Thanks.
@shanelai25154 жыл бұрын
Hi Lucien 😊 all wheels have a durometer which indicates how hard or soft they are. Most of my wheels have a 78a durometer which is very soft. Harder wheels have 98a durometer or higher which might sound like plastic

Do you think I'd be able to pump and turn like this on a landyatchz pocket knife (surf skate)? I find it carvy, but my wheels come off the ground easy. I'm a beginner mind you. 2 days😎

Hi Shane just subscribed great videos loved the round house video. I apologise im sure you've been asked numerous times but new here. If you had to choose one board to surf skate and use as a surf technique trainer what board would it be? Currently got a Carver with cx butn thinking about going down the c7 route. Alternatively try to. Find a smoothstar for sale in the uk! Cheers Jon
@shanelai25154 жыл бұрын
Definitely go the Smoothstar route for surf cross training. Overall, the board is more balanced and tuned. Deck length, width(specially at the tail side), concave, WB, duro. C7 is still too stiff but might be suited more for surfy cruising
@jonkennard82724 жыл бұрын
Thanks Shane had my Carver for years and it's really helped my surfing. The cx are solid trucks but watching the turn ability of the smoothstar is so much more like surfing and on the flat to. Thanks I'll keep an eye for when they come back in stock

Hi Shane, I still couldnt find my balance on the baord, and i am so afraid of doing big body moves like you. Just wondering where do you put your body weight ? your front foot or your back foot? or it changes during slide?
@shanelai25154 жыл бұрын
Before snap: on back foot, to rotate off the back wheels During: on front foot, while pushing the tail hard After: chest over front knee

What grade wheels are you using? Mine board comes with the soft 78a like most surf skates. Its near impossible to break traction. Ive just bought 90a's.
