Videos are really helpful. Set up my first surfskate last week. Made some equipment adjustments and put in some time working on your tips. I feel real progress has been made. Even was able to take these tips to my 1970s style G&S Warptail. Good times for sure.

Hey dude, quick q: I've been doing lots of slides, snaps, and reverts as of late and I've noticed the back wheels have gotten substantially smaller than the front wheels. Any thoughts on when I'd want to replace them?
@santiagopeschiera17433 жыл бұрын
Your back wheels will always get worn faster with slides, snaps, etc since they keep more contact with the ground than the front wheels and bear most of the friction. You'll want to rotate the wheels (like you would with a car) to even the wear but better to replace with a new set. Also consider less squishy wheels to trade grip for better sliding. But you've probably figured this out by now since your post was 7 months ago lol.

I noticed the smoothstar thruster looked looser. Do you get wheelbites in the smoothstar and carver? Have you added risers?
@shanelai25154 жыл бұрын
I would say, wheelbites are less common on smoothstar than carver.

I got a carver swallow CX for Xmas, i don’t know anything about the trucks but your trucks seem way more flexible. Any tips for me?
@shanelai25154 жыл бұрын
Carver cx truck is around the tighter end of the spectrum and swelltech truck is at the loosest. You can try to loosen the kickpin but there only so much you can loosen before you eventually unscrew it. I recommend practicing and when you feel ready then go for looser brands like smoothstar, SpiceSkate, swelltech or YOW(what i am riding in the video)
@gohteam4 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! It did work a charm and I was able to carve and pump with much less effort but two hours in the screw came loose, bushing and truck popped off lol. Do you have recommendations on how to choose between the brands y listed above?? Thanks for all your content!! Super helpful esp goofy
@santiagopeschiera17433 жыл бұрын
@@gohteam I'd love to know what you ended up getting, since this post is old, but I recommend checking out Shred Shack's videos if you haven't already. Shane is right in that Swelltech is the loosest and Carver is probably the tightest. What I'd recommend is to visit www.smoothstar.com/education/choosing-the-right-surfskate-smoothstar/ for your height and weight but also apply the suggestions they give you to the other company's sites. I have a YOW. It's 34in and I'm 5'10 and 165lbs which is actually what Smoothstar also recommended. Also, a lot of boards aren't in stock, so be mindful of your choice and don't settle.

Look for their online stores under the same name. Or just search surfskates and look for cheaper alternatives
