FYI DOM tube starts as ordinary welded seam tube it is then drawn over a mandrel and pulled through a die This does several things that make it stronger than welded seam tube The more uniform in OD ID and wall thickness make it more structurally sound but pulling it over the mandrel and through the die work hardens the metal changing the grain structure makes it stronger

@scrapingpavement8 ай бұрын
Truck is still going strong as a daily driver. The roll center being offset leans a little more turning one way than the other ( not noticeable unless paying attention to it ) if you were to locate the single point on the wishbone would solve the slight lean in a corner. Other than that no complaints

Is it a problem when the bag is at full squish and the convolutions rolls over and touches the bag mounts? I'm running dominator 2500 and my mounts are typical bag on axle brackets. The dominator rubber rolls over quite a bit fully compressed and touches the brackets
@scrapingpavement2 жыл бұрын
That's pretty common, ideally you don't want the bag to touch metal. But fully compressed is common in alot of cases. You'll want to check for sharp edges on the brackets them selfs, round over any 90 degree edges or harsh areas with a flap disc and then sand paper to give the most life to the airbag. If its touching smooth metal the bag should last a long time to the point where the bag itself shows wear, like drying out.

@scrapingpavement5 жыл бұрын
4 things you can do. 1- if you have an h190 axle you can put a datsun 720 axle in which is 1.5" narrower on each side or 620 axle which is 3" narrower on each side and swap third members. 2- pull the shit out of the bed fender ( ugly ) 3- graft 87-89 rear pathfinder quarters to the bed they have a big buldge like front fenders, or some will even graft 4wd front fenders to the bed ( pathfinder quarters look better imo ) 4- lastly you can sell the wheels and get ones that tuck.

Hey before you put the bags in how was it so low i put blocks in my s10 but it didnt even go that low do i have to remove some leaf springs now to finish lowing my truck plz let me know
@scrapingpavement4 жыл бұрын
Well on my nissan I had torsion and drop spindle drop on the front, re drilled leaf hangers, blocks, and mono leafed in the back. For an s10 you cut do drop spindles and drop coils up front or even cut springs. For the back of an s10 you can do drop leafs and blocks, or mono leaf. Or I've actually seen s10 guys flip the overload. Only problem with doing some of those things is the truck will ride like crap.

With the kingcab d21 there a 2 piece driveshaft so dont have to worry about rubbing anything unless it were on 22s or bigger. Kool vid bro helped me understand a little better how the setup works I was wondering on the storage tanks, can u have more than 1? Or is it kool to just have 1? Also do u require to have a gauge to monitor the pressure on the tank? Thanks
@scrapingpavement6 жыл бұрын
Thanks, i would recommend at least a 5 gallon air tank. But ya you can run multiple tanks or one large but the more air you can hold the more compressors you'll need. I would recommend an air gauge, or if you do a setup like mine with no gauges i run a pressure blow off valve so if the pressure switch doesn't tell the compressor to turn off the valve will release so the tank and or compressor doesn't blow up.

Im having a hard time. Bagging my first truck i cant figure out how to measure for my bag mounts. My bag with air is 8 inches. Without its 3 inches which only gives me 5 inches of travel however to lay frame from where i want ride height my frame is 9 inches off the ground its irritating to say the least. Any help is appreciated
@scrapingpavement6 жыл бұрын
What kind of bag do you Have? That is probably just the relaxed height at 8" most bags go from 2.75"- (10.5-12.5") even on a small bag there should be a good 7.5" of stroke. When the airbag is on your control arm you will actually get more lift then that because of the pivot point because of the ratio the bag sits on the arm. That's why some people like to mount there bag on there link bar you can get a 1:2 ratio of lift from the bag so if a bag gets 8" of stroke by having a 1:2 ratio you could get your truck to lift 16" off of the ground.
