I already have experience with lower brand glidecams, but just upgraded to the glidecam pro range. This video was great for getting that new range quickly set up. Thank you.

Awesome and easy to follow video demo. Greatly appreciated. New to this game and just got my GC HD2000 today and nervously excited. Got confused watched various videos and picked up bits but yours was clear and concise.

Excellent tutorial! Used this on both 700D and 7D. On the 700D I only needed 2 weights on both sides compared to the 7D, where I needed 3 weights with a 24-70 mm lens. This tutorial helped a lot, thanks!

Great video! I was working on balancing my glidecam for hours and this video helped me do it in minutes. Follow this video and get a makeshift c-stand and you can clearly see the difference in the way the glidecam is balanced. I was using a gh4, speedbooster, and the sigma 18-35mm lens. My problem was that when I was just using my hands to stabilize the glidecam I could not tell the difference in the slight directions the glidecam would rotate. Also pay attention to the part of the video where he talks about loosening the screws the adjust the weights under the cheese plate.

Very good tutorial. I just would ask you if you recomend to use autofocus or manual focus using steadicam. Thanks.
@manusfilmset8 жыл бұрын
I think it depends on the camera. If your auto focus is good enough I would probably stick with that, so that you can focus on getting the most steady shots possible. If your auto focus is BS, you will probably need to ajust it manually.

So specifically, what are we doing with the balance of the bottom of the glidecam? How do I know how wide the base should be? How do I know how many weights to put on it? Exactly how long if a drop time should I have? You said between 1 and 3 but your drop time is just barely 1 second
@KeyKeeper866 жыл бұрын
That means that the lever on the weights' side is too large. You can try lower the height of the telescopic pole. Amount of weights added and the height of the pole should be selected in such way that the center of mass will be in the horizontal plane that intersects with the gimbal lock.

If your glidecam/steadicam keeps spinning counterclockwise or clockwise it is because you have a bad bearing. hold the housing that holds the main bearing and wiggle it. wiggle it in both axis directions, one axis might be fine but the other direction you will feel a loose bearing, that explains why your glidecam keeps spinning no matter what adjustment you make

0:47 Why though? 1:45 Why though? 2:32 You say it returns to the bottom way to fast. I used a stop watch. It took 00:00.95 seconds 3:09 Your drop time is 00:01.33 and you say that's probably where you'd use it. That's only 00:00.38 slower. Also, you said between 1-3 seconds? That's a big amount of time between those two numbers, so which is it? 1? 2? 3?

Thank you for the tutorial! Very simple and easy to follow. Quick question for anyone out there: I'm using a c100 with my Glidecam 2000 and would like to add a quick release system similar to the one in this video so that I can just slide on the c100 (with the plate already attached from the tripod), do a quick balance and get to it. I also have a Manfrotto tripod that I would have the plate from there on my c100. My question is, given the tripod plate I have for my Manfrotto, which quick release system will I need to buy in order to fit the plate I already have? I will provide a B&H link below to the tripod I'm using so you can take a look at the plate I'm also working with. If anyone could send me a link or 2 to some options that would fit my specific plate, that would be awesome! I'd do it myself, but I can't seem to figure out the specs or exact model of my plate. www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/944776-REG/manfrotto_mvk500am_mvh500a_plus_mvt502am_plus.html Sorry for the long post, but hope someone can help!

I just got the glidecam 2000 and was hoping to use it with my Sony A7. But it seems like the camera is too light. Has anyone found that to be true? Any tips on this? Thanks!
@ronalvalerio11956 жыл бұрын
Hi Sarah I came across the same issue, the solution was to put an extra plate under the Camara so it can be heavier then the bottom and then just adjust the bottom with more weight.

It happened the same to me, and I looked for tens of tutorials and it doesn't seem they have the problems finding the balance as I had. After all, I decided to contact with the owners because it seemed that it was defective. I recommend you all to contact them and explain them your problem, because it may be not your fault
