Hey Josh I like your videos I think there great and I think its amazing on how your helping the Steadicam community. The only thing I would correct you on is the balancing issues. I didn't hear you bring up the dynamic balancing, its actually not a pendulum problem its dynamic balance. The steps to achieving what is considered perfect balancing in the Steadicam Industry are too have your correct drop time which you did point out and that should be anywhere from around 2-3 seconds. After you achieve that you fine tune on the head of the sled to level out your pendulum swing. Than most importantly you check your dynamic balance which is a simple practice of spinning the post just beneath the gimble to see if it sways. As noted from one of your other videos to reduce that sway, its actually dynamic balance that causes it. It's kind of a little game we have to play from going back and forth. There are many different types of Steadicam's but the physics in them always stays the same. I have attached a link from a professional and very experienced steadicam operator Chris Fawcett on how he shows you how to achieve dynamic balance. Other than that your videos are great man keep up the good work and happy shooting! Chris Fawcett Steadicam Dynamic Balance Quick Guide kzbin.info/www/bejne/fmq6aZWFj7GAb8k

MrJMMedia Hey whats up man, I've learned a lot from your tutorials. The problem I am having is that when I film with my glide gear, the footage doesn't come out smooth. I find myself using the warp stabilizer in premiere to make the footage come out nice and smooth. I am also not using a wide angle lens. Any tips on how not to have semi-shaky footage? Thanks!

I have a Nikon d3400 and I don't know how to move the head assembly on my yelangu s60t
@arthurph97447 жыл бұрын
Take all the weight out of the yelangu s60t and balance it. The camera is too light to use any weights with this steady cam. You should get the 3 seconds like him on the video after taking them off. I have the same camera, and I assume you're using the kit lens with it. Make sure you have the battery inside the camera when you do it. Good luck!
@arthurph97447 жыл бұрын
To move the head assembly push the blue knob to the left, mine came with a lot of pressure on it, maybe that's why you can't move it.

dude can you help me? when im doing the drop thes my camera rotates like crazy, what is it? Im really frustated i've beeing watching your videos for a while and everything but i cant nail it. I miss videos where people talk about the phenomenos that may occur while balancing, every tutorial i find people are just showing how they balance they setup and is really not objective. I think the master tutorial would be something like, showing the symptoms of a miss balance stab. Like a example: Pendumlum effect - what causes it, how to solve it./ Swaying issues -what causes it - how to solve it. (ps i know you have a video saying about this one just giving an example cause i don't know the name of the others possible problems.) Hope i could make my self clear, and sorry for grammar erros, i'm not a native speaker anyway just trying my best.
