Thank you for the video. That was a good video. I lived in Sallisaw, Ok. for 5 years back in the 90's and fished Kerr Lake and tailrace below Kerr dam for cats and normally always had good luck. Oklahoma has some of the best fishing in the nation and good folks too. Think I'll move back there when I retire in a few years.

Pro tip, if you live in an area where there are residential Retention ponds, try for catfish in there cause there’s some monsters. Me and my friends fished one for just a few hours and reeled in 5 7-8 pounders and I got the big one of the day at 10.53. Maybe not 40-50lbers in there but that 7-10 mark is still tons of fun

Liked the video. Just a few questions. Where did you get your 11' surf rods in one piece I am thinking? What type of reels are you using? Why not use circle hooks? Better hook set in the top of the mouth. I am using an 7' Berkeley Rod with a Ambassador 6000, that I bought back in the middle 80's. I have a few cats on it here in East Texas. But I was using for bay fishing in my home town down on the Texas Gulf coast. Thanks and good luck. Keith

Shad and skipjack are the key for all cats in my opinion then for flathead specific I go with perch all day and maybe baby carp if you can get them. I don't like messing with the small channel cats I like going after BIG fish.
